Barrel & Co.

Lunch at Barrel & Co. mid-week and we enjoyed the experience. Quiet restaurant meant prompt service and a calm atmosphere. Lunch menu is small but covers most bases. My Wagyu Beef burger was very tasty, well put together and filled my not so small belly lol. The garlic bread was also on point, yum. Good selection of tap beers too. Not cheap eats but if you have an Accor Card membership you get 50% off. Good.

Wow! The food was absolutely amazing, I had the Venison Wellington and it was super tender. The portion size is very reasonable compared to other hotel restaurants. There was 2 of us, we had a starter each, a main each and a side each and we ended up taking almost half to the room because we couldn't finish it all. I am not a big meat eater and usually always go for the chicken option, but the venison definitely surprised me and the flavour was delicious. The stuff was very friendly and we had outstanding service! Definitely coming back!

So glad we started our weekend off here! Great selection for the Buffet breakfast, the Chef was very accomodating and coffee was just as i like it! (Im VERY fussy when it comes to coffee!) The Staff overall were so attentive & friendly, I couldn't fault their Customer Service - we felt welcome the moment we walked in the door! Will definitely be back!

First time In Rotorua and I must say this place is absolutely divine! First of all, we walked in hoping to get a seat but was told they were fully booked for the night ( should have known, it was a long weekend anyway) stood outside for a couple of minutes googling romantic dinner spots - the lady from restaurant earlier came running outside ushering us back in ( someone had cancelled, Yay!) The service was immaculate from the moment we sat down- we had the pleasure of being served by the most amazing staff (Sheryl)- bubbly with a wild sense of humour , quite the professional she is! Dinner was splendid - really worth every single penny! We also had the pleasure of having the executive head chef visit our table who surprised us with a beautiful platter of sweets for our anniversary! I can’t thank the staff for making that night for us a special one! In all my years I don’t think I have ever witnessed such superb excellent customer service from Barrel & Co. I 100% recommend !!!

It’s not fair to give 1 star to a restaurant because the front of the house it’s a mess , wait for a table even when you reserve it , the waitress/forgot the entree and came after the main, no steak knife for a steak, didt refill the glass of water or ask which wine I would like my meat with… but the chef cooked the eye fillet perfectly medium rare/red wine jus. Thanks to the chef and everyone inside the kitchen .
