Mimi's Cafe

We came to this wonderful place on a Sunday at 1135 am. It was very busy with a full parking lot. Our hostess greeted and sat us in a booth within a minute. Our server introduced herself and offered a bread basket and took our drink orders almost immediately. She was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and was excellent in making recommendations. This cafe was very clean and had a bright vibe with jazz music playing in the background. The music was not too loud, so having conversations at the table without raising our voices was a great bonus in the pleasant environment. The decor was in a charming French motif and the front of house were dressed in a typical French bistro-like uniform, which added to the overall ambience. The back of house kitchen staff pushed food out within an appropriate timely manner despite having a full house. The food at the table was fresh and at a good temperature. The frites were traditional hand-made cut potatoes. The carrot raisin bread was simply delicious. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients used for cooking. I highly recommend this establishment.

It was a very quiet morning so there was no wait time today. I was seated, ordered & ate my meal, and paid all within 30 min. It was great. The greeter and server were both very friendly and my food (salmon eggs benedict) was delicious. I wish there was a more crunch to the English muffin to complement the softness of the salmon & eggs, but it was still a great dish nonetheless.

Mimi's was having a hard evening. My companion and I were part of a group of about 25. Unfortunately, although we had reservations for more than 2 weeks, staffing was far below adequate. Several of the group got their meals and had long-finished eating while many of the group had not received any food. Then many of the orders were confused. My companion had the meatloaf which was good. I ordered the honey glazed salmon on rice pilaf with mixed vegetables. What I got was a small piece of rather ordinary salmon with a quarter cup of white rice and a small serving of broccoli. It all looked a bit pitiful and overwhelmed by all the empty space on the plate. Then there was some confusion sorting out the tickets. The staff tried hard, and even the manager pitched in to help, but in all, the restaurant just was not up to the task. The friendships and congeniality of the group kept the evening from becoming unpleasant.

I went to Mimi's around 8:30 p.m. We waited 10 minutes to be seated, we took that time to look at the menu. The dishes they have sounded delicious. I ordered the pot roast with mash potatoes and broccoli, the meat was so tender! My friend ordered the shrimp pasta dish, and that was delicious as well. We had the spinach artichoke dip and that was very tasty, and for dessert we shared the chocolate banana nut muffin with Haagen-Dazs ice cream topped with whip cream and strawberries. The whole meal was delicious and tasty. For our first time we were give free muffins, and our waiter had the cutest mustache and a nice smile 😉 that made our experience more wonderful. Over all 4 stars and we will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes.
