Lucky's Chicago Style Grill

Ok, been going to this place for years with various owners. Some owners were better than others ... Today I stopped in for a chili cheese dog. The dog was pretty decent, but the cheese was not melted. The bartender told me I could have onion rings instead of fries, which I appreciated. That was the good news.... When I walked in I asked for a menu. No problem scanning the QR code but it took me to a third party app I would have to install??? WTH? I did notice that their website had a stale domain, so there was no online menu other than this bogus App. I'm not sure how they plan on making money other than selling alcohol. That may work out since there were several day drinkers having fun. I saw a guy walk in and couldn't figure out how to order and then walk out. The tables had not been cleaned since last night. The whole deal seemed like a new owner that really didn't know how to run a business. Hope they figure it out soon...

Being from Chicago I always love Chicago style restaurants. I went in and the people there seemed to be having a good time at the bar laughing eating and drinking. The attendant greeted me and told me to sit anywhere. I found a table and sat down. I ordered the Italian beef with fries. Havent had a good Italian beef since my last visit to Chicago until now. It was a nice size and tasted very good. I was pleased. The waitress was very nice and took care of me. Seems like everyone in there knew each other. Nice place.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Where did the old owners go? The ones that had amazing Chicago style food with a real Italian beef!!! No mozzarella, gyro came with no cucumbers, no tzatziki sauce, Italian beef was cold and not wet! Barley 3 pieces of meat. Chilli chess Frieda were cold and cheese didn’t even melt! We used to come here all the time and boy will we NOT be back…. Sever/bartender was super rude about it not one sorry. Thankfully didn’t have to pay but will not be back.

Terrible food and racist customers. I used to be a regular here. Tony the bartender is great, and Shawn the cook is like Obi-wan, but everyone else is racist. My fellow people of color should avoid this place and Skinny Bob's. The Flats pub and Fast Eddie's for billiards are better and skin color doesn't matter.

New management, now layout. The remodel vastly improved the interior of Lucky's. Full bar in the center with tables in the front. They still have the Chicago based menu. I got the Italian beef, wet, and it was good. Spicy and sweet peppers. The meat was cooked well and moist. Got a side of onion rings. Cooked well but very salty. Overall Lucky's is improved and I'll be back.
