Good Dogs

Fantastic beers all around. They've nailed the German-style Pilsner, Pincushion, with crisp light flavors and a great balance. I don't have a single bad thing to say about any of the five beers I tried. Barkeep was very friendly and quick with service, there are plenty of comfortable places to sit. It's a no-frills, well kept taproom.

I've never enjoyed their brand of beer, I just deliver the Malt needed to start the beer making process. Device is a challenge. They're a small production company tucked away in an industrial area not designed for trucks my size, add to it that their storage silos are located inside and at the rear of the building increases the challenge. I've got to dog-leg my trailer over, leaving room in the parking lot for other vehicles to get by and run 60' of 4" hose from the rear of the trailer to the furthest silo, then build pressure in my trailer vessel and literally blow the grain into the storage vessel without damaging it... every turn in the pipe and hose causes the grain to crash into a solid surface on its way to rest peacefully in those silos until Device's Brew Master will call upon it to brew up some awesome IPA.

This brewery offers a friendly and inviting local atmosphere. We happen to stop in on trivia night and it was a blast! You’ll be greeted by the friendly staff as you walk in and they are all very knowledgeable of the beers on tap. Device beers are clean crisp and well-balanced. I’d like to give a big thumbs up to their brewmasters. This I have found to be consistent from month to month and season to season. Really masters of their art. For this reason their one of my personal favorite Nor Cal breweries. Check them out, your experience won’t be disappointing.

This is a great hangout spot in the up and coming Ice Blocks area. The beer is reasonably priced, and there are a few snacks for sell to go with that beer. There are about 12 moderately priced beers on tap and a few seem to change each month. The selection features different styles of IPAs among other brews. The flavors are generally light to medium and hoppy. Most drafts are deceptively light and smooth despite having 6-9% ABC. The outside seating is nice with the newly renovated ice blocks architecture. There is dog-friendly outdoor seating with gas heaters in the winter. They have cornhole for when it's not too busy. Occasionally they have popup food vendors outside. Inside feels big with the high ceilings, but a little crowded to allow for the necessary seating. Bar seats have many power plugs with built in USB ports. I have come here to study with some brew a few times and enjoy the atmosphere. Pros: - Reasonable beer prices - Smooth beers - Rotating beer selection - Can can their draft beer to take home - Modern and new layout - Friendly staff - Easy to order a beer (no fighting to get the bartender's attention) - Dog friendly - Study friendly seating, power, and wifi - Clean bathrooms Cons: - Selection is very IPA focused. Most IPAs have the same light to medium body. - Not a lot of outdoor seating - fills up fast & is meant for large groups - Parking is limited - Light flavors with high alcohol content are not ideal for study sessions - No warm snacks / food

We went here today for the first time. The staff was pleasent, helpful, and knowledgable. There was a line of about eight people in front of us, but it took less than 5 minutes to get served. I like their selection of beers, they seemed to have something for everybody. We each got a flight of samples, which is always fun if you've never been to a particular establishment before. One thing I really liked about this place is how food is handled. Even though I saw an old but presumably functional pizza oven there, but they do not make or serve food of any kind. What they do instead is encourage customers to bring their own food. We brought a "picnic" of salami, cheese, and crackers; but could have broght anything really. I was told that food trucks of all different kinds show up there and that it can get quite busy when they do. We ended up bringing a growler of their Salted Carmel Porter (SCP) home with us, as that was our favorite. I recommend and will go their again.
