I can’t remember the last time I had sweet and sour pork or BBQ pork fried rice that it had this much MEAT in it ! So far, I’ve eaten here twice and was pleasantly surprised. I am happy to know that Chan’s is so close to my new apartment.

Chan's Garden, simply good and affordable authentic Chinese food in the heart of downtown St. Joseph, Michigan. I wish I got the young lady's name who served my wife and I, but she was super kind and attentive. So, service is also very good. Lunch or dinner, stop in, you won't be disappointed!

My wife and I frequently enjoy eating here. The staff and food are amazing. The prices are very reasonable in my opinion.
One thing that really pleases my wife is the way they are so accommodating to tailor her order to what she likes.
We definitely plan on visiting many more times in the future.

Ordered take-out on a Thursday. Shrimp lo mein had large shrimp and was made with skinny noodles and vegetables. Very good. Chicken with mixed veggies and garlic sause was also good. The hot and sour soup was different. It had a lemony taste to it and wasn't real spicy. I enjoyed it.

New management is doing everything right: the fresh, delicious food, and the friendly, efficient service, PLUS wine and beer! The almond cookies topped off a great dinner. This is going to be my new go-to spot for Chinese food, eat-in or take out. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

Chan's Garden has been owned and operated by the same family in St. Joe for over 50 years. They serve completely authentic food made from the heart with knowledge that have been passed down through generations. The families traditions have been passed down and you will taste that within the food. I absolutely love their chicken fried rice and you will too along with the rest of their menu. Special thank you to Kenzie and Kenny who are the next generation keeping the spirit and tradition of excellent food and service alive. A must visit if you're looking for Chinese food in the area! Enjoy!

Chan's Garden is really good! Since moving to Michigan, I haven't been able to get good Chinese food until now. I love the portion size for the dollar amount. I LOVE the big pieces of protein in the fried rice. The flavors were amazing! The service is very professional, from how the phones are answered to serving people. I enjoyed the atmosphere with people coming together to eat a delicious meal. Chan's what a winning establishment you have!
