El Chiloko

I'm new to Mexican cuisine so I really don't know what the menu is very well. So far I've ordered a little bit of everything and it's all amazing. the cool part is I'm really not that good at Spanish and it doesnt matter its all good vibes. I also discovered on Friday nights they have awesome karaoke. This place has totally good vibes and great food.

We were staying a night in Salinas, and the hotel owner recommended this place to us for good Mexican food. And he is right - they have very good food. We enjoyed what we had (enchilades, carne asada, and one other dish). The food was fresh & flavorful, prepared to order, and was worth it to us to try this place. But this is not a place for anyone who is not very adventurous. Their menu consists of pictures & names of the dishes on the wall. There are no prices shown, nor any description of the dishes, so it is assumed that you know what you are ordering. We've had enough Mexican food that we were comfortable with that, but they had some dishes on their "menu" (wall) that I've never heard of, and would have liked to know more about the dish. But what we ordered was very good, and the lady who served us was very friendly & helpful. They also had a spice bar where you can add some more jalepenos, or different salsa's, or some other spices that they offered. We enjoyed experimenting with different options. The food was very good, and the ending bill was very reasonable, so if we are again in the area, we'll go back again and try something "off the wall" (new).
