Hamachi Sushi & Ramen

This is the best sushi I've had so far in SLC, including takashi (no offense!). Every role I've had was delicious, and I always get the garden roll in addition to the rest. It's the BEST veggie sushi roll I've ever had anywhere! The katsu is super tasty as well. Always incredible service and the vibe is very chill and not too loud, perfect for a date or casual evening. Love the shrimp tempura maki as well, so simple and delicious!

This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the world. I've been to sushi in a couple dozen different states in the US. I've gone to sushi in at least three countries. Outside of Seattle and California this is the best sushi I've had anywhere. The sushi is so good that even though we lived in Tooele County we would drive down to SLC every single weekend just to have lunch here. This went on for over a year and that's because this is the best sushi in all of the state of Utah. If I can make a recommendation the miso is amazing, the Green Hornet roll is amazing, the Kill Bill Roll is amazing, and the Billy Billy roll is amazing. This was my go to order because it has one spicy roll so not too much spice and then the other two rolls give a good variety of flavors. If you want to try something new go for the Stuffed Shishito peppers, you won't regret it. The only roll I didn't like here was the Cobra Kai roll, and it wasn't because of quality it was just because that's not my thing. I've tried every appetizer on the menu and they're all delicious. The service is fast and friendly. The food is prepared quickly so you're not waiting that long, and the food is of the highest quality. Their rolls are a perfect blend of rice and sushi. I've been to other places where you order a roll and it's like 80% rice. Not here, it's just the perfect balance. As a result, I went to my birthday here 2 years in a row to celebrate with my favorite restaurant. Also, with the parking you can park outside of the lines to add an additional ~2-3 cars in the main row of cars. I've moved out of state now, but every time I come back we always try to come here because it's just so good.

Great place and fabulous food! One of my favorites in SLC ... great temp plum sake... very good rolls... the atmosphere is hard working but not too swanky... very fresh everything was good. In the late afternoon the sun shines sideways thru the window and is good for food photos then... Good service.. The chefs are super pros!

Ate there for the first time. Service was great, I was seated quickly at the bar and the server brought my drink and took my order promptly. It was great to watch them prepare my meal in front of me and pass it over the bar. Sashimi was exactly what you want sashimi to be not fishy or mushy. The sushi I ordered had great flavor as well. Will be back.

Great atmosphere (relaxing and attractive), reasonably priced, and the staff were really great! I particularly appreciated the way our server interacted with my niece, which made it fun! As for the sushi, while I enjoyed it, I’d say I wished for a bit more flavor, and the soy sauce was extremely salty.

Oh wow what a great experience! We were staying across the street and we popped into Hamachi really quick before heading to the haunted house. We arrived a half-hour before close and they greeted us with open arms. The staff was very friendly! I was not super hungry, which is a shame, because I only got 1 roll and some sashimi. But WOW the VOLCANO 🌋 roll was incredible! It has lemon in it and seriously, just flavor explosion. The sashimi we got was high quality, melt in your mouth. My friend got the Ramen and was very happy with it too. Fantastic spot!

Great place near the Avenues to grab sushi. We got seated immediately and I loved the patio area! We got our food pretty fast once we placed our order (I’m used to waiting longer for sushi so this was great!). Our waitress was very sweet and friendly but gave us plenty of time to order. We got the sunshine roll, the jazz roll, and the spicy tuna roll. Out of those 3, the jazz roll (middle one) was by far our favorite!! We also got Purple haze, their hot sake; it was very smooth and had a subtle flavor to it. Everything felt fairly priced, they have some classic rolls in the $6-10 range and their signature rolls in the $12-17 range.

First time visiting here! Overall it was excellent. Super fast and attentive service. Our edamame was out in only minutes. Tad bit salty but would rather wipe it off than not have enough salt! The sushi was fantastic! We ordered an Executive, Playboy, Volcano, Green Hornet, Mr. Miyagi, Spider, Shrimp Tempura, and California rolls. All were delicious with a great mixture of texture and flavors. Will absolutely be back!
