Ernesto's Mexican Specialties

Friday I was looking for an upscale restaurant with Mexican dishes and a nice wine selection (hard to find). Luckily I remembered Ernesto's, which my husband and I had not been to in a long time. Our overall experience was outstanding in every possible way! To include seeing a very dear friend of mine there. Our meal and service was extraordinary, and we plan to dine there as often as possible. Please support small business, please support local.

Greeted at the door by the owner, he let us in I early to wait and look over the menu. He told us about a couple of dishes. We decided on the Red Snapper. With some fresh guacamole to start off with. The favor of the guacamole was excellent. Then the snapper came we let him surprise us with the sauce. It was a melt in your mouth experience. So light and delicious. We also tried one of his desserts a crepe, it was delicious as well. So glad we stopped by to check this place out. The music was nice as welll. Great place for a special dinner. We will be back to check out the rest of the menu.

I got the red snapper that was stuffed with lump crab. The first bite was the single most amazing experience I have ever had with food. It melted in my mouth like butter and was filled with so many flavors. The service was great, and the restaurant was very well kept. I will be coming back every time I pass through San Antonio.

What a great experience this was. We took our 96 yr young mother here for her birthday. Ernesto Jr is one of the nicest guys. The food is over the top spectacular, you will not be disappointed. Oh and the sauces, oh my I've never tasted sauce like this before. The staff is just as nice and patient. Place is clean and beautiful inside. Lunch prices great everything under $20 however the food is top $ delicious. We highly recommend Ernesto's we will be back. Thank you for making this day a great day for our momma.

I cannot provide enough accolades about Ernesto's! From the moment you approach the door until the owner shakes hands as you depart - every thing is perfect! I had guacamole, shrimp and a delightful beef tenderloin (truly cut with a fork). Hubby had crab and shrimp on beef with a wonderful buttery rice. We made room for a fabulous house made chocolate cake. Service every bit as wonderful as the food and superb sauces. Try it, you'll be a regular after 1 visit!

We were greeted by Ernesto when we arrived. We shared it was our first visit to the restaurant and asked for the chef to surprise us and it was delicious! Started off with shrimp/crab nachos with his hot sauce. One meal was snapper, shrimp and crab with capers, pineapple rice. All the flavors were very unique. Another meal was beef, shrimp enchilada and rice and beans. The beef tenderloin was very tender! Then the dessert surprise! He brought us crepes with homemade mango ice cream. Very tasty combination of flavors. Our favorite part was this was an experience. Ernesto is very proud of his restaurant and his family legacy. We will be back!

After reading some food reviews my family and I decided to try out Ernesto's. Their reputation is built around fusing some traditional Mexican with some French techniques. I am really glad we came. Ernesto's did not disappoint. The mixed styles of food complimented each other very well. Whether it was seafood or beef dishes our family was pleasantly impressed. Definitely the highlight of our experience was being served by Ernesto himself. His personality is definitely the secret sauce to the dining experience. So glad we got to enjoy this experience.
