Willie's Grill & Icehouse

I get lunch to go from here weekly. It is consistently good. My favorite item was the brisket tacos, but they recently removed those from the menu. Other items are very good. I eat the redfish when eating in. The icehouse chicken Willie sandwich is excellent. Onion rings and fried mushrooms are excellent sides.

Overall, our recent visit was as good as our previous visit from a couple of years ago. That said, the hamburger buns were not fresh. In fact, a bit on the stale side. We’ll chalk that up as a one-off as we’re confident it was not a common issue, but it did take away from the rest of an otherwise pleasant visit.

The dining room was a little chilly, so I found a table toward the door to the patio. It was perfect until someone decided to sit out on the patio to eat. Every time that door opened, we would get a shot of cold air. I felt sorry for the server that had to go outside to wait on them. Server was great and my food was better than I thought it would be.

The only thing I had an issue with is they way I make my order. But they have a good variety of food, it's always been great quality and amount surpassing the price point. The servers have without fail be helpful,fast and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is a combination of family friendly and recreational. The seats are comfortable plus the locations have always been clean. The restrooms are small for the amount of people they can have in there but it's not been an issue so far .

This week I took four volleyball teams to celebrate their end of season at Willie’s. I took 2 teams on Monday and 2 teams on Tuesday. I called in advance to let them know and to anticipate a large group in each day. Brandon took down my information and the manager called me back the day before to confirm. They were immensely helpful and Brandon and Vicky did an amazing job taking care of our players and their families. We probably had about 30-45 players and families each day. I loved how the families could go through the line to order their food and pay after they eat. Brandon went above and beyond to assist with whatever we needed. I highly recommend Willie’s for any end of season event you may have. They have an amazing selection on their menu from burgers to salads. There is something for everyone. Thank you so much for all that your restaurant did to keep our girls happy!

One of my wife's favorite restaurants in San Antonio. She worked for many years close to willies and had a lot of takeout meals from Willies. She never got bored with it and still enjoys it. Shrimp still my favorite go to meal there. Oct 2023- stopped by and had the chicken fried steak with onions rings. Outstanding , wife had the chicken and vegetables platter and enjoyed her meal too.

Had a great visit, always great food that I’ve come to love. My server was especially excellent, her name was Estrella and man she was awesome. Perfectly attentive, very helpful and topped off with a beautiful smile! Makes the dining experience much more enjoyable to have a great server. Will definitely come back!

I went here the other day, and let me just tell y’all, Kimmie our waitress was absolutely superb. She made this experience the best there is these days. We don’t go out often, due to the lack of care in the industry. Kimmie gave us hope that there are still excellent servers in the world. Thank you Willies for hiring such a lovely personality of a server. And food was delicious. We will definitely be back to this location. And be asking for our same waitress again. Good job!

This is our go to place for the kids, the popsicles and sandbox makes them so happy! Sergio was our server and he was kind & very accommodating to us. The manager Dylan stopped by our table and was so friendly! On our way out Kimmie helped us refill the kids drinks and Ale grabbed us a bag to carry out to go food. The staff is always so amazing to us! Food is fresh and drinks are refreshing! We will be back!
