Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

We enjoyed dinner here after watching the nutcracker at the majestic theater. We were familiar with the restaurant because years back we had visited the Galveston location. We like seafood. The stuffed shrimp was delicious. The hushpuppies are good too, they are stuffed with other ingredients too. Our waitress was so fun and on point. We also played Forrest Gump trivia. I would say overall, good food, good atmosphere, fun employees.

Because this restaurant is on the Riverwalk, be prepared to pay for parking and then finding your way to the restaurant. Once we finally walked down to the restaurant, the Maître d' made sure we knew where our large party was seated. The restaurant was very accommodating because earlier, we had to push back our original reservation time. When we arrived, there were 2 people serving as Waitress/Waiter. The young lady had my table & the young man had the other table. From my perspective, it seemed like the young man was more pleasant than the young lady. I almost wish we could have switched. She was rude. It felt like she did not want to serve us. Our party arrived at different times because of the difficulty parking in Downtown San Antonio. I finally got to order my drink. I saw the Icee machine walking in, so I got 1. She upsold me the collector's cup. We then ordered the Run Across America Sampler Grilled Shrimp, Mama Blue's Fried Shrimp, Seafood Hush Pups, Spicy Chicken Strips & Bubba's Far Out Dip & homemade Tortilla Chips. Some of the chicken strips were overcooked. I then ordered my next course of Old Fashioned New England Clam Chowder Rich & creamy, filled with tender Clams & Potatoes. It was great! Next, I had Maker's Mark Glazed Salmon Flame-grilled, perfectly seasoned, basted with our own Maker's Mark Bourbon sauce, served with Fresh Steamed Broccoli & Jasmine Rice. Everything was good but a little bit salty. Because of the sour service of the waitress, we did not order dessert. If you go, I would not suggest going with a large party.

My dish was plated exquisitely which shows how much care they put into the food here. The fish and shrimp were both executed perfectly and the sides were just as good as the entrees. Their Cocktail Menu has something for everyone and the gift shop is great! Parking is above on street level, the doors are locked uptop so you will have to enter on the Riverwalk. I would come back in a heartbeat!
