California Pizza Kitchen

I have not eaten Pizza like this since I lived in Europe. This is the way Pizza should be made! You should be able to taste every ingredient on top of your pizza. The Pizza was not greasy and the crust was perfect. A Pizza you can eat with a knife and fork. Now for the soups: Thick and flavorful! We have been to this restaurant two Fridays in a row and so far I can say that the Baked Potato Soup, Green Pea soup, and Tortilla soup are all made very thick and not watered down. There are definitely some signature flavors at this restaurant. Every dish we have tried seems to have a little spicy kick to it, but nothing overbearing. The service is remarkable! Both times that we visited was during the Lunch hour and both times our servers were very attentive. The first time we were given a survey to complete regarding the service we received, but the second time we did not receive one. Although it was busy, I saw the tables and seats cleaned thoroughly as customers left and I mean thoroughly! Not once or twice but a total of three times for one seating area. The menu pricing is fitting for the quality of food and service your receive. The ambience is so relaxing. Between the oven fire and the chill music, you almost want to hang out little longer and just chat with your companions. I think I found my new favorite Pizza restaurant.

Dined in last night at about 7:30 PM. I was already hungry when I walked in. The hostess so kindly sat me down immediately and my server was great, very attentive. My pasta entree was hot, bread was fresh and the sangria hit the spot! I almost didn't take pics because I couldn't wait to dig in. Thank you all for making this a great dining experience 🙌 and the restaurant was very very clean which is a huge plus in my book!

I had been here years ago and just happened to be in the area again and I wanted the same pizza only smaller. My server said she would make it happen as it wasn't on the menu and I had a Greek salad and a 5 cheese pizza (small)and it was just the perfect portion. Service was good and even brought out bread n oil to snack on. I live way across town but from now on I will make the trip for this fantastic lunch!!!

Many things we like about this place. Great pizzas, from the dough to the ingredients and all the combinations they make. They always have good stuff, very consistent, and constantly innovating. Prices are reasonable. Customer service is usually great, and although they’re short handed just like many places nowadays, wow, they’re just right there doing the best they can for the volume of people that comes for a bite. Great place!

Interesting place. As usual for San Antonio restaurants, the staff is warm and friendly. When I first arrived, I was very judgmental and observed some things that I did not necessarily like, but with a few minutes of chilling and some great advice from my wife, I started to see what was really going on. The managers were making the staff feel comfortable and not pressured... they were motivating them with the carrot and not the stick. Our waitress was super attentive and professional, and in the end, made a connection with my wife for reasons of community service and things hard to explain. The think crust Sicilian pizza was awesome as was the Caesar salad. The dressing tasted authentic and the shaved parm was the bomb. Bottom line for us is that the staff will bring you back and the food will never make you want to leave. Great place.
