Eastside Kitchenette

Service was great and the food on point. Ordered fried pickles to start, and though they didn't have quite the crunch or crispiness we'd hoped for, their in house made pickles had incredible flavor. As for the chicken fried steak, no words. Just order it. Definitely coming back and highly recommend to others.

First time to East Kitchenette and it was pleasant experience. Friendly staff, quick service and most importantly the food was excellent. There was a lot more to try on the menu and of course they offer breakfast so that definitely warrants multiple return visits. For our first time lunch experience, we tried the bacon and pimento hush puppies and the meatloaf. Super delicious with tons of flavor and a good sized portion. It’s great to see more quality restaurants in the San Antonio area with high caliber service and food. I will definitely be returning.

This is our second visit here, please excuse my plate as I already started eating when I remembered to take a picture for the review. The first visit was great as well as the second. My husband has the meatloaf the first visit and he loved it! I had the country fried chicken on both visits and the quality of the meal was great both time. The dishes are big portions so bring your appetite. The service has been quick and friendly. The drinks are on the small size but still good. The corn is so good I love everything they dress it with. Definitely worth a stop.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this place but was pleasantly surprised. Thankfully we were there just in the middle of happy hour, which was great. A good selection of drinks and snacks at super reasonable prices, and they weren't stingy with the happy hour options. We had a few drinks and shared a few snacks during the happy hour, and then stuck around and ordered entrees. The food is southern with Mexican influence so needless to say it was amazing. The only unfortunate thing is that since everything is made in house, several options were either unavailable because it was too early, or they were already sold out. I will definitely go back to try their other dishes.

Best chicken fried steak in San Antonio (after my wife’s). It’s not the cornflake style chicken fried steak like LuLus or Tip Top; it’s more of a home style which I love. The deviled eggs where pretty good but not blow your mind. The fish was a little over fried but the seasoned parmesan fries were really great. Cool vibes, good food, date night prices.

This one is definitely worth the trip if you don't live or work in the area. I had the bison and short rib Bolognese; it was absolutely fantastic; lick the bowl good; I managed to save a small portion to take home for my husband to try but I ended up eating it before he got home - THAT good. The EK steakhouse butter burger was exceptional too.

First time here and loved it. Tried the butter burger and it was huge (single) and others had the chicken fried steak and corn and mac and cheese. All yummy! Also had the spinach artichoke dip and it was delicious. Between the four of us, we sampled quite a bit and liked it all. Totally full and leftovers for tomorrow 😉 Highly recommend it and will be back!
