Carnitas Lonja

Absolutely fantastic food, I always get more than 1 lb because we know later on we're going to eat it. Absolutely get the guacamole. It is worth every penny. They are closing at the end of the month which is a few days from now and is so depressing because they had the best carnitas I've ever had. You will be missed! So if you get a chance before the end of the year to go and visit, highly recommend highly highly recommend!

Such fantastic carnitas! We bought 2 lbs to split between 8 people, and we only need to add 6 additional corn tortillas because there was so much meat. Almost everything was gluten free! (Carnitas, corn tortillas, and beans were GF, for sure) They're closing down sometime between Dec 27-31. The waitress said that Chef Alex will be reopening next year with a different menu. I recommended they denote what menu items are GF, and/or mention it on their website. I look forward to their reopening!!!

This place does not look like much from the front but once you taste the food you will come back! The food is outstanding, full of authentic flavor, and done right. We tried the half pound of carnitas, shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and the tostada with carnitas. All were excellent! You order up front, wait in the back where they have an outdoor seating area, then they will bring the food to you with extra sauces. The service from the waitress was also excellent. I can’t wait to try this place again! 👍

Delicious. We stopped by at 12:30pm on a Wednesday. Moderate line to order but it moved along. We ordered 1lb carnitas and a side of beans. The carnitas come with corn tortillas, 6?, pickled onions, pico de gallo, and limes. We should have ordered extra tortills. It was really good. Really, really good. Always go to the south side of SA for the best food! The place is blink-and-you-miss-it, tables out back, clean up after yourself. The only down side, for us, was trying to find parking.
