Passing through San Antonio and couldn't decide on Tex-Mex or BBQ so I went to South BBQ & Kitchen and had both. The pulled pork and brisket tacos were each delicious and the creamed elote was a perfect side.

Food was great and the service was good! There’s no a/c since it’s only outdoor seating, so ordering to go is HIGHLY recommended.

Nice brisket, pull pork and ribs... Big portions on the sides. Nice staff and prices. Also in the drinks. Just a opinion of the sauce, was a little to sour, bitter and runny. We come back again!!!

Really good. The elote was the bomb though. It was surprisingly spicy. Best bbq side I've had. The charro beans and tater tot casserole were tasty as well. The ribs were good but I thought they could use a hint more sweet to balance the black pepper and I actually prefer some cayenne thrown but that is personal preference. The brisket and pulled pork we had on tacos so I will not speak to their flavors before trying them solo. Pp The tacos were good though. The price was excellent. I would actually give them 4.5 stars but I guess I have to round up since that is not an option. On first impression, I would say they are in the second tier of SA bbq after Reese brothers, 2M, and Pinkerton's. I will def reassess them in the future and next time I'm getting brisket, sausage, and chicken sans tacos.

The BBQ was great. Had the full pound of brisket and it was very juicy. Came with all the fixings and the tots were amazing. Ordering was ready either online or at the window. Plenty of parking only a few outside tables in the shade so you might not want to hang out. but do stop by and get there early as they were sold out several days when we tried to go back for more. Can't say enough good stuff about this place.

We love BBQ. This place had post oak smoked meat, which is unique. The brisket was very wet but tasty. The pulled pork was my kind of pork. It was very juicy. The smoked flavor was on the lighter side. The sauce was way too sweet for us. The vinegar cole slaw was also too sweet for us. We prefer a little more vinegar flavor. You can't go wrong eating here. Note: This is outdoor dining.

The owner was friendly and helpful. He was prompt with the food. The BBQ brisket was top notch. The flour tortillas tasted homemade and were soft, chewy, and delicious. My husband loved the baracho beans were flavorful and a little spicy. I loved the creamed elote(corn) was so good that I could have ordered a second helping. The outdoor seating area was old and down home but comfortable enough. He had picnic tables and patio sets for seating. We enjoyed it.

This place is one of the top BBQ spots in San Antonio. The quality of the meat cuts and side dishes is outstanding, specially the brisket, short ribs and bean sides. I fully recommend this site and would go back anytime. Enjoy!

Overall, pretty good spot. Hole in the wall feel, with small and simple menu, but very delicious. It is pricey, especially for the brisket, but unfortunately it’s not much different than elsewhere. The pulled pork tacos were very good! They had plenty of meat, which was juicy and tender. The tortillas are made fresh in house, and you can taste the difference. They were topped with cheese and a great sauce. The quarter chicken was really good, especially for only $3,50. Simple but done great. Overall, a great local BBQ with great offerings. I’ll come back one day for the brisket and see if it lives up to the price.
