environment: on point. neutral brick and exposed concrete walls with a balance of birch woody tones to mute the industrial vibe. loved the holiday addition of christmas lights and the picturesque tree in the corner. so of course, as far as any sort of hardcore studying goes, outlets are muy importante. they do have outlets at various points along the wall, but nothing on the floor. so if you're studying at a table or any area not against the wall, you may be out of luck. and there aren't actually any tables against the walls-- just some couch-type seating and a bar lined with stools. what initially sold me on checking out this place was the conference/study room that could be reserved. coffeeshop traffic can be unpredictable so i'm generally hesitant to try and do any serious studying at coffeeshops because i don't know how hectic and loud it'll get. i contacted cafe punta before coming in and reserved the study room without any issues, but when i arrived, i was informed that they required a $25 minimum spend in order to use the room. i probably would have spent that much during the course of my day studying here without a problem, but my friend and i didn't want to be obligated, so we opted to just study in the general seating area. it would be nice if the minimum spend information were posted somewhere, or if they could just get rid of that policy altogether. even if only 2 people used the room and each person got a drink + pastry, that would easily add up to $25, so i don't think they need to worry too much about enforcing a minimum spend. alternatively, it would be nice if they could consider making the study room free to use if there were no other existing reservations for the day! i would definitely be back more if there was a reliable, quiet place to study. the background music is decent for studying. good elevator music type stuff that is easier to zone out than anything with lyrics. it could be turned down a tad but that's probably just my adhd talking. it's probably just fine for most people! drinks: oaxaca chocolate mocha was rich and smooth, but to me, was so sweet it could almost pass for just a darker hot chocolate. i didn't catch much of a hint of espresso because the thick chocolate was a tad overpowering. great for people who are fans of starbucks and super sweet drinks, but i could do with a touch less sugar. drinks are $4-5 depending on the size, so prices are somewhat comparable to starbucks as well (aka not cheap). i can't exactly rate the coffee itself bc i couldn't taste it much, but maybe next time i'll try out a plainer latte. someone mentioned that they offered almond milk, but when i asked, they only had soymilk (60 cent upcharge). aside from coffee, they also offer a selection of fruit smoothies for $5-6. might give one a try next time. food: a small selection of pastries. nutella cake was just okay-- on the dry side, but worked okay with my mocha. it was just a regular coffeecake/poundcake-type pastry with a couple thin ribbons of nutella. i am a sucker for anything nutella-related, but this was a bit of a letdown, especially for the price. they also sell a couple different premade sandwiches and a bagel+cream cheese. temperature: this is probably the main thumbs down for me. despite it being gloomy, and rainy out to begin with, the temp inside was freezing-- even colder than it was outside. i was in a long sleeved thermal shirt and a fleece and still cold to the point where i had to periodically rub my hands together. there was a constant, overpowering and chilling breeze from the overhead AC that kind of ruined the otherwise cozy vibe of the coffeeshop. wonder if they would be open to adjusting the temp if a customer asked? it would also help keep our hot drinks warm for longer! my mocha was cold when i was only halfway done drinking it. overall, 4.5 stars. glad to have this as another study spot option in town. just hoping they expand to be closer to the med center!!

Best Expresso in town. Superior premium beans from Mexico can be clearly tasted. Creative blends with Oaxaca cholate for Mocha is delicious. Fresh homemade Tres Leches cake is signature and to die for. Very chill ambiance with nice outdoor patio with fountain. Kind of hidden away but a jewel of a find.

I have never had coffee that taste so beautiful! I normally stay away from coffee because i feel its overrated but this place helped me to understand why people can love coffee. I had the Chai Latte - cold with an M1 Esspresso- I really really enjoyed it. I'll become a regular now. there is no point in having coffee anywhere else

I love the atmosphere and their coffee. It's so good you would never visit their larger and more well known competitor if you did. I hope in time others discover it too. Only feedback I have is that the desserts (cakes and cookies) are way too pricey for me.
