absolutely delicious food we went last weekend for our 2nd time and it didn't disappoint us at all food wise. my girlfriend ordered the carnitas de puerco plate it was good, i ordered the puerto rico torta or something like that it was delicious hands down the best place in san Antonio but the only thing I didn't like was that one of the waitress had no good Work ethics she was constantly flirting with some guy that was there it just didn't look right in my opinion you're there to work not hook up.

My office hosted a conference this week, and we catered from Carnitas today. I received some unearned rave reviews for my choice - so I wanted to pass along a little love. They were amazing! You will not find better carnitas in this city, and the home made tortillas were so fluffy and tasty - I could of just had them for lunch. The portions are huge, and the sides compiiment the tacos perfectly (Yummy mashed beans!). FYI - try going for breakfast also, I had the migas plate while I waited, and they re the best I've ever had. I'll be back - so worth the drive!

I found this restaurant by accident and I'm glad I did! The food is so so GOOD !! The tortillas are AMAZING!. Salsa is vreat Definitely one of the best. Since I found this hidden gem I have been back numerous times. Great staff , clean, great food! Definitely earned a long time customer. Keep up the good work carnitas

The Carnitas Mexican Restaurant is a hidden Gem that prides itself in bringing authentic Mexican food to the West side of San Antonio. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted by a friendly staff that took no time to offer me somthing to drink and promptly took my order witch included Carne en su jugo and the Carnita's half pound dish. The Carne en su jugo is a remarkable soup unlike anything I have had before. The soup features bits of crunchy bacon and an amazing broth making this a must try and an excellent introduction to what I really came here to try... The CARNITAS! The carnitas simply looks like a work of act. With the meat lightly pulled apart leaving be hide nice big chucks of very moist meat that melts in your mouth. The carnitas is so good that it could be a meal all by itself however, they serve it with a side of beans, rice AND these handmade tortillas that will make you wonder why you even bother wasting your money buying tortillas from a store. With the fast service and very well priced menu that covers all the Mexican food staples I am sure The Carnitas Mexican Restaurant will be here serving food for a very long time but, do not let that stop you from visiting it now because you will be surly sorry you had not visited it sooner.

If you want authentic Mexican food THIS IS IT! The owners are a young couple from different regions in Mexico. They came to San Antonio after working in Chicago. They are a delight to talk with. It's like watching an episode of Netflix's Chef's docu-series. There food is all natural and scratch made.

Under new management, but still as good as ever! I always go here for the chilaquiles rojos and was afraid they might not be up to par. I was not disappointed. In fact, the red sauce had a bit more pica than before, which is an improvement. There is no other place in town that makes them like this. My wife gives her approval of the homemade flour tortillas, and that is a great compliment because she is very picky about tortillas. This place is worth the drive to the east side!

Food is Great!. I've been coming here for years and I know the true story to the change of owners. The truth is the previous tenants left the real owners in a bind, taking equipment and more. I have been a customer here since they opened 2008, the place was left in bad shape by tenants now owner has to pick up and go, its a shame that a group of people would come and just place bad reviews to try to ruin a business. Gladly they are doing great and I highly recommend coming to try the food yourself. I tried the carnitas and they are by far the best carnitas in town. They kept the same name because they are the real Carnitas Owners, only leased it out due to health issues by the owner, but daughter is doing a great job keeping this place a float after all the property damages that were left. Support instead of bashing innocent people. God bless everyone.
