I do not like to review restaurants like this negatively because the fact is we need a lot more of them in town, and I do not want to cast a negative light. The service was fine, but the server sat down at our table while he took our order, which seemed a bit odd. Perhaps he was not well. You could tell almost no one ordered food in the restaurant because there was a sizable buffet. We ordered butter chicken, paneer butter masala, and both came with rice. We ordered regular and garlic naan. And Mango lassi, bulbs jamun, and rasmalai. The mango lassi was a hit with the kids. The jamun was fine. The regular and garlic naan was fine. The rest was not good. I would not say bad, but it just was not good. When we wanted to pack up our food, we had to pack it ourselves. And when the total was nearly $100 we were pretty shocked. We certainly ordered a lot, but we were still pretty surprised that it was about $20 per person, and two of the people shared their food. So more like $25 a person. based on the pricing and the food, we, regrettably, will not be going back.

This place was absolutely delicious! A hidden gem, for sure! The staff were wonderful—attentive, nice, gracious, and welcoming. We were a rather large group and they happily accommodated us. They had an entire buffet dedicated to vegetarian/vegetable based dishes, in addition to the normal spread. The dishes were well labeled. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for dinner.

There aren’t enough stars to rate Tandoor Palace. Clean, friendly staff and the food is absolutely amazing. Get lost on the amazing Saag Paneer, the phenomenal Chicken Tikka Masala and the awesome piping hot, fresh Naan. And in the end refresh your palate with a bowl of delicious Khir. Tandoor Palace is still my favorite place in San Antonio. Will always come back here.

This is currently my new go to place for Indian buffet . I find that each Indian buffet does something better than another so I won't say that this is better than any other but that they do a couple of dishes better than the others and that is what I am currently in the mode for. For me they do 3 dishes really well but all the items on the line are tasty so you can't go wrong depending on your preferences. The absolute only criticism I will give is that the Chi tea isn't that great and I usually just order the water whereas at other Indian restaurants I almost always have the tea. In all fairness their tea may be more authentic but I can't say for certain, all I can say is that while it's not bad I just don't prefer it. Edit: I went there and after a long while of not ordering their tea, I ordered some. It is actually quite good especially when I added some sugar. They let you add the sugar to taste and I think I like that better, now if they only gave me some milk to add too.
