Tin Star Restaurants

I've been here twice and i like it, could use a lot,More lighting and better ways to make sure the employees are mindful of how they serves the customers because opening my can of soda for me shouldn't be the first thing they do, it nice but not being cations how they should be and also they need to get straws with the cover on them. The waitress just literally put my straw in my soda cup with her dirty fingers. They need to have better management's to make this place better and the cook has to be cleaner around his work station and wear a hair net. The restroom and thw kitchen need to be worked on too separate the customers from being able to. Smell it and see people coming right out from it. They could put my spray in the room I couldn't eat my second time because the view of watching people go in and out was disturbing.

Perfect amount of everything from meat to ramen to broth. The meat in the ramen was so delicious, better than any other place I've tried here in San Antonio. Their green tea is from Japan and has a very smooth taste to it. Their spicy charred edamame is VERY spicy. Officially my go to ramen place in San Antonio. I'd recommend Kimura.

3 words: Food. Is. PHENOMENAL. Don't let the small restaurant fool you. Quality is prized among all else and once they set that food in front of u, it's absolutely heavenly. Myself and my friends came in a huge party of five. There were some mishaps on our part but the waitress and staff were extremely kind and helpful. We left completely satisfied and I look forward to going back soon!

Food was delicious!!! I can compare to tokyo japan because the ramen had it made just as good as over there!! I enjoyed the tonkatsu ramen with pork belly...and the gyoza. I feel for what I get the gyoza are over priced at $7 bucks for 4. But they were good so cant complain. Also, my husband had the pork katsudon...which he loved. I would have placed 5 stars if it wasnt for the waitress. She didnt really serve us but even so I tip cash on the table. But my husband said when he paid and she saw he didnt leave tip on the card she gave him an ugly look. Guess she didnt see us leave it in cash...guess I should have taken it back but maybe she was having a bad day...

I used to be a server downtown and this was my go to spot when I had a headache from the night before. The ramen really warms my soul, it’s so good. I still go here from time to time and recently brought my boyfriend. He really enjoyed it for his first time, it’s also small which helps cause we don’t like when there’s tons of people around. Servers are always nice and willing to help us try new things. I absolutely love this place. 10/10 would come back for years to come. ☺️☺️

First time coming in, Walked in for to go, noticed one of the cooks was not wearing a mask and was eating something while cooking without washing his hands.. and was clear as day he was chewing away. Asked the nice hostess if I can get refunded. Obviously because of covid it’s concerning. Manager comes out explains to me they check for covid blah blah blah, like every other store does. Says that “he may have been tasting the food I guarantee as every restaurant does behind closed doors”. Okay cool I understand that, tasting makes sense but when he’s not washing his hands after each tasting, germs are being spread. Not to mention the droplets that may have been spread since he was laughing a lot and having a good time. Cool have a good time at work it goes by quicker, but for Christ sake wash your hands and wear a mask. I gave 3 stars because a big deal wasn’t made and gave me my refunded promptly. The hostess was nice, so she kept the tip. Maybe one day I’ll come back after covid, but Nama Ramen will forever hold my heart.

Everything is on the salty side for me but generally speaking still pretty good. Blown away by the edemame! I've had so many edemame dishes in the past but nth like this one. Even though I had to add a bit of water in the ramen to make it less salty, I would still consider them having the best ramen in town so far. (We are new here tho). Nice service. Sad that they don't have the grill squid and full size mackerel anymore but will return again.
