The Trails Eatery

This is one of our favorite breakfast and brunch restaurants simply because they serve vegan egg options! Long gone are the days when I have to watch as family members eat delicious eggs Benedict and I have to abstain. I am always trying new egg dishes here with the vegan egg substitute and have loved every option! It is close to my house and the service is so quick and friendly. Whenever I need to choose a breakfast place The Trails is always my first choice. I am sure this place is one of the few in San Diego that has an option for vegan eggs!

First let me say it’s refreshing to have a San Diego brunch option with no wait on a weekend and plenty of free parking! Lots of food options (with gluten free) and great energy all around. Like the idea of ordering/paying at the beginning then choosing a table but was a bit hesitant on how to tip since you don’t have a dedicated waiter? Hope it goes to all of the staff evenly Food came out within 5 minutes of sitting, hot and tasty. Eggs and pancakes were fantastic. Wish the home fries were more seasoned, and wish the iced vanilla latte was more flavorful. Price was a bit high for the portions but overall we were satisfied and will come back due to the friendliness and convenience !

Overall, it has one of the better Gluten free and extensive menus available Around San Diego, would come back purely for the gluten free items as they're top tier The other breakfast items were about average. Seasoned well and accordingly. I like paying ahead, and then sitting then getting your food, but it has a tipping option which I'm mixed with, I don't like tipping before I receive such said service, but this was just a personal opinion Food was Overall fresh and good tasting. Staff was friendly and kind, diligent.

This is a go to restaurant for my kids but it was my first time. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the fun company around me, the kind staff and the delicious food served here. Since this happened to be a family gathering, we shared a few of the breakfasts and lunches. Each item was not only delicious but it was fresh and perfectly cooked as well. The chocolate milk tasted just as my son remembered from his childhood days and my iced tea cooled me down from the scorching heat outside. I’m bringing my parents here next time. After that, I’ll definitely bring my roommate to this wonderful restaurant. ~ Mayumi
