Afters Ice Cream

My daughters suggested this place. Small ice cream shop just 2 blocks from the beach. Interesting selection of flavors - I sampled four and went with the "Triple-C" (Caramel, Chocolate Fudge, Chocolate Chips). Excellent flavor - but a little pricey for what you get - small servings. Dog friendly.

Good ice cream, good selection and very cool flavors! They have an ice cream sandwich they make with a donut type bread, brioche would have bumped it up a star, and for the limited entry policy being in place they served it up pretty fast. Not horribly spendy for Mission beach area, 6 ice creams for less then $40. Would I go there again, heck yeah, especially if they start using a brioche for their sandwiches.

I’ve only been once, so consider that. Service was attentive but only 1 employee was helping customers, and worked slowly. Ice cream itself was not good. I ordered a scoop of Pop-Tart, so I admit I took a risk, but I thought it was bad. I could see a lot of the cartons of ice cream were melted on top which isn’t great. Hopefully that’s not a consistent problem. Also, confused by the combo of ice cream store and lifestyle brand. To each their own. This is not my own ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Basically, it took a long time to get ice cream I really didn’t like.

"There are other ice cream places!" This is a direct quote from the employee working on June 2nd. So we will take his advice and visit the other ice cream places in Pacific Beach. I was incredibly saddened and disappointed in a local establishment. Because they only allow 5 people in at, we were unable to make a quick stop in after school for some ice cream.the people in front of us were taking too long and my decided the best course of action was to laugh at my kids.
