El Rincon Restaurante

I am visiting San Ysidro for business and I came across El Rincon. I was craving Mexican food and I knew I was going to find a great meal and I definitely did! For starters, the place is inviting, the atmosphere is warm and it definitely feels authentic. The staff super friendly and attentive which is a plus specialty because I went during lunch hours! I ordered Huevos Divorciados with extra egg and a cafe the olla. We don't have a place in my city that offers cafe de olla and it was so good! They serve chips and beans and they were very tasty, it is a good way to poke at your taste buds! The dish was phenomenal, the salsa Verde was delicious and with the right acidity and the red salsa rich and smoky. The beans were on point and the tortillas were fried as they should be. Many places do not understand that frying the tortilla is a must to have a good Huevos rancheros / Divorciados. After I was done (quite quickly because it was so good, I cleaned the plate! Lol ) I started chatting with a beautiful couple that just got married.... They are in their mid 60s!! We had a great chat and I mentioned this because the atmosphere invites you to socialize and have a conversation with the other patrons. Prices are excellent and we'll worth it! Got up and I came across the owner who earlier I notice her walking around and saying high to the customers! Asking how is everything and if they needed anything else. That speaks volumes because it is obvious she cares a lot about her customer's satisfaction. Super friendly and she thanked me for eating at her. I left feeling appreciated and valued. This is my place for Mexican food when I come to San Ysidro for sure! Thanks for a great experience!

I tried the chicken mole enchiladas an there so good an the cafe de holla is good too.the chilaquiles divorciados another go choice and the mole chilaquiles. the frijoles an chips they give you while you wait for your food are so good too definitely like this place it taste like homemade food and this are the kind of places I like to go.

This place is Amazing!!! This is definitely a hidden gem 💎 as others have said. Food was perfect, service was awesome👌 our server Adrian and chef Silvana are the BEST. went this morning for breakfast with family and cannot remember the last time I had a breakfast this good. Everyone was throughly impressed. First time here, and we hope to keep coming back!!! Love this place!! Recommended to anyone who loves delicious food.

This restaurant is a hidden Gem!!! The food and service is amazing. The menudo served with fresh corn tortillas is so flavorful, but the pozole is not far behind served with fresh corn tortilla chips on the side tasting like they just came out the fryer. Don’t feel like having soup well no worries there is something for the whole family from chilaquiles to whatever your craving as long as in the menu. Decently priced for the serving sizes provided. Don’t just take my word and try it for yourself. You and your family and friends will be regulars once you’ve tried it once. I love this place. They have some parking but since the food is delicious may get packed so if no parking is available you can easily find parking near the adjacent streets and walk a minute or two to the restaurant. 6 out of 5 stars. Wow what a gem! Found this place by chance, and decided to try it out before the drive back home. I ordered the Carne en su jugo (beef, beans, & aromatics stew, small sized bowl shown in picture), my dad had the menudo, and then we shared some Nutella & strawberry crepes. I really enjoyed the presentation and plating too, the crepes looked impressive and drew lots of looks from other tables. Aside from looking good, everything tasted delicious, including the horchata I had to drink, and I really liked the complimentary spicy beans and chips they give you to snack on. I'll definitely stop by for breakfast/brunch again next time I'm in town.
