When most people take their first bite of one of these desserts, their reaction is, “WOW”. It takes a couple of bites to wrap your brain around the unexpected combinations; the complexity of flavors, colors and textures. It’s almost a cerebral experience. These are the types of desserts you would expect to find at a 5 star establishment in Paris or London; available only to a very exclusive clientele…but we have this incredible opportunity right here in North Park. The Chef, Ian Smith, is part artist, part scientist--creating individual works of art with an uncanny understanding of how flavor affects the human brain. The menu changes every week, using fresh local ingredients. This is an experience not to be missed. Just don’t expect to order, say, chocolate cake or apple pie. Ian says he likes his desserts to “taste like things”, and they do--things you might not expect in a dessert, like peas and carrots, a BLT, scorpion pepper, real honeycomb, or sometimes even chocolate.
