It's Raw Poke Shop

Best poke in San Diego hands down. I’ve also had poke in many places on Maui based on local recommendations and honestly I’ve enjoyed its raw more. It is very fresh and you know it’s good when the line is out the door. The service is fast and sanitary and they do the best they can with the area but sometimes people in line can be rude and ignorant but that says nothing about the people behind the counter because they are patient generous and kind. We cannot make any specific recommendations on which entree to get because we love them all and have a tough time deciding each visit, however the sides of rice with furikake and Mac salad are to die for. 10/10 would recommend getting some food here and taking it out to the beach to enjoy.

Best poke on the mainland ! This is Hawaii quality poke, and is much better than what you usually see off island. The crew that runs it has true pride in their work and the quality of their food. They are completely to go, so take your poke to the beach and eat it sitting on the sand, island style. It's raw poke no ka oi.

We enjoyed the plate that comes with two poke varieties and two sides. We got the kimchi ahi and spicy salmon poke, with rice and mac salad sides. My wife and I shared it, and the portion was sufficient. The staff was friendly and open to helping us decide which flavors to try. I've never had Poke before, and this was a great introduction! The fish was fresh, and it was packed with flavor. The mac salad was so good, we wished we had more. We'd recommend it to anyone visiting Ocean Beach and will come here for Poke next time we're in San Diego.

Overall: No wonder it has so many reviews and 5 stars! It totally deserves it. Although, I do wish I could give it 4.5 stars. Since its in downtown Ocean Beach, parking SUCKS! Good thing we got lucky and found parking. Also, my reviews might also be a little biased given that I was pretty hungry at that time. But you know what they say, hunger is the best condiment. Food: SPECTACULAR! The freshest fish I've had in San Diego. The furikake is a little sweet and VERY flavorful. The shoyu has an additional sauce packet. I could not eat it without rice. PUNCHES me with flavor. Hahah +3 stars Service: It was fast. There IS a line out the door but that's because the interior space is so small. From check out to grabbing the food took about 5 minutes. I waited about 15 minutes in the line. Location: SUCKS! Parking stinks! However, I want to say that this is only a 5 minute walk away from the beach, so once you find parking you are set. Price: I paid about 17 dollars for this meal. Its a bit on the pricier side, but for the taste of freshness, I'll let it pass.

After reading the reviews for this poke place, we had to check it out. We got both salmon options, and one tuna served with rice and edamame. Everything was delicious, fresh and lots of flavour. The staff were super friendly and helpful for us first timers. Definitely felt like we were in Hawaii- would recommend for anyone wanting a quick yummy lunch by the beach.
