This is my absolute favorite coffee spot, with the Caviar app (or I believe they have their own now), you can order ahead and just pick-up your fresh, individualized coffee on your way. Usually the staff is friendly, done with the order early, and you are off. Today was an exception where they hadn't even started my order and I was after the predicted window, seemed like the workers were running around and playing games. Hopefully this will be the lone exception, to a normally great experience.

Literally the best coffee I have ever tasted! I had to brimg home a pound of freshly ground coffee. The coffees are so smooth and rich tasting...made one cup at a time. Philz is amazing! Go here once and you'll dread going back to all those major coffee houses!

I am not a coffee drinker. But Hubby ordered a Minto Mojito Iced Coffee and I figured I'd give it a try. I'm not crazy about mint, but oh my goodness! This drink was good!! It had the perfect balance of all the flavors and sweetness. While nothing was too strong or over whelming, all the layers really came through. Service was fast and we loved the location. Our kiddos ran around on the grass while we enjoyed the caffeine.

As good as in SF, just with longer lines and less space! I wish it were more accommodating for people to stay and work or study, but the vibe is certainly excellent.

Van Ness is a very small place unlike the Philz in Castro and Mission. They share a space with a sandwich shop and if you want to sit, you sit in the sandwich shop. BTW, the sandwiches are delicious but they are $10 each. The coffee is excellent. It's just missing the ambiance of other Philz.

I went on a Saturday and the staff was super friendly. This location appears smaller than others in the city, but there is additional seating across the entryway.

The Mint Mojito Coffee truly lived up to the hype! I will definitely return when in SF.
I hear they have a location in Los Angeles as well. I plan to check to it out.
I noticed that the shop also had Jamaican Blue Mountain brewing. Very nice!

A tad bit expensive for somebody who isn't too picky about their coffee. Philz offers a lot of the drip-style coffee which supposedly has a more nuanced flavor. To be honest, as long as I have some creamer and sugar, I think any coffee is delicious. I purchased the mocha, and it was decent if not a bit expensive. As a basic coffee drinker, it's not bad. For the coffee aficionado, you're going to have to give this place a try yourself!
