Edit: I learned they’re going out of business, which explains the below. Updating my review. Sad. Used to be a go-to, I just wasted time walking over and sitting in front of a sign saying the shop is open until 5:15pm today yet everything is fenced off and closed. If you don’t want to get business might as well update your website and spell it out plainly for customers.

Beef Bones, Wild Boar Shoulder, and Wild Boar Sausage was my haul this morning …. Not your vanilla cuts, but they have those in abundance too. The point is that; they have have the best cuts and even better people slinging it. This place is a San Francisco staple, and I’m looking forward to getting back to my weekly rotation of dropping in on a Saturday morning. I’d advise you to check it out; whether visiting or local. It will not disappoint.

I'm convinced you guys have the best meat that I've come across. The whole staff, including the managers, are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. If you want some special cuts, call, and they'll set them aside for you. If you're looking for an exclusive piece of meat and delicious cooking advice, this shop is the right place for you!

One of the best places to purchase your meat. Prices are fair, service is always excellent. We always come to buy our prosciutto and they are the only place we've been to in the city that cuts it paper thin. It's perfect everytime. Also a great place to get wagyu steaks or iberico steaks. Would highly recommend

Solid pot pie - I asked for a chicken pot pie, but I pushed my fork in and discovered that it was actually a beef pot pie that I had been given. I didn't take it back as I happen to like beef pot pies too, but just a surprise for me as I was expecting a very different flavor. I will say the beef and the gravy inside had a very nice spicy peppery-ness that I really appreciated, and the crust was sufficiently flaky. It was very filling (honestly the perfect size for lunch) and not a bad price amongst the shops at the touristy/popular Ferry Building.

Yesterday I went to the ferry building and bought some salami from SF meat Co., specifically the Finocchio salami. I’ve recently moved back to the bay area from a three-year stint in Italy which is where I had first had this kind of salami and I was missing it dearly. My expectations for an American version were fairly low, so I was blown out of the water straight into pork heaven by how delicious the salami was. It was different than the Tuscan variety to be sure, but so beautifully composed that it was an artform all on its own. The fat and salt content were balanced and well distributed, the texture was firm and perfect for both thin and fat slices, the flavor? Exquisite. It is the best salami I’ve ever had in the United States. Bravo

Barbecue pork ($ 3.58) I got only pork, not in a sandwich or a wrap. My order was a half of the smallest container, which was enough for one person. I got just a little bit of sauce. I think the pork itself was soft enough, but not seasoned enough, which can be complemented with sauce. I had it with baguette which was great, and I think it would also go well with soft buns.
