Mel's Drive-in

Was so sad that the mini jukeboxes at the table were not working we always sit by a jukebox table and play the music what we want to hear they should really fix those that's part of the charm! Besides that I still like going to Mel's good food getting to be a little expensive though but what are you going to do.

We have stopped in many times to Mel's Drive In. For Service, Food and our nice wait staff... I wanted to say his name is John - nicest Asian person worked in p.m. was so much fun. From the first time we had him and yesterday, hysterical, loved his attentiveness to all customers and jokes we heard. so many favorites meatloaf, hot dog and onion rings, breakfasts.SUPER great place to chill, this is now our favorite hangout.

Went here for lunch on a Wednesday while I waited for my car to get worked on at Big O Tires down the street and also to get some work done on my iPad, so I was there for a while. I usually don't go to Mel's due to previous bad experiences, but this was my first time at this specific location, and I decided to take a chance. I was not disappointed! I ordered the short ribs nachos and it was delicious and came in a large portion. I also ordered a $5 mimosa and it was great. The staff were all really sweet and were on top of greeting customers, checking in periodically, cleaning tables, etc. and they all seemed to genuinely enjoy each other's company. I also noticed they had lots of regulars, and I can see why. This location has a chill atmosphere with plenty of seating, oldies on the speakers, and a friendly local diner vibe. A pleasant experience!

Recently visited Mel's and had a great time. The friendly Latino staff is bilingual and helps you order based on your personal preferences. The steak was delicious and the Aesthetics of the restaurant takes you back in time with its authentic atmosphere. Mel's restaurants treats Queens as Queens and gives roses to moms on Mother's day. Mel's Drive In is a must visit restaurant! Highly recommended.

We had not been to Mel's for quite some time, but this trip up to SF we knew we were definitely going there for lunch. I had the Mom's Turkey Dinner, it was fabulous, especially the stuffing, I love stuffing, and the red potato mash was so creamy and full of flavor. They only use fresh turkey breast and it tasted like it...melts in your mouth. My daughter had the fabulous root beer float and the French dip sandwich. She did not leave a crumb behind. The ice cream tasted like homemade, as did the root beer. The French dip has the freshest roll to complete the very tender roast beef. Yum. and the juice was tangy and plentiful. I would of given them 5 stars, but the bottled Kraft mayo and ranch dressing put us off. Other than that, you cannot go wrong getting a true home style meal here.
