Excellent outdoor seating, friendly people, many good dishes (the lox bagel, the quiche, the various sandwiches). You have to pick the food up inside, but it is near the entrance and can be done quickly. Everyone wears a mask. It's also quite near the beach and the walk along the coast, and there is a large parking lot two blocks away.

Wonderful flavors for breakfast and lunch - sandwiches, hummus, eggs - and killer selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Sounds like this cafe has the largest selection of drinks that are non-alcoholic: alcohol-removed beer, wine, aperitifs, and they also have CBD drinks and kombucha. Some is even on tap. They do live music sometimes, too. Definitely a killer spot.

Sneakily one of the better places in San Francisco. They make excellent sandwiches. The last time I was there, on a Saturday, they had live music and a couple people asked me why I was leaving just before it started (I didn't know there was music on Saturdays!) Will be back!

Often out of Dutch crunch but the homemade multigrain was hearty. I wish they had more suggested sandwiches so better food combinations could be curated over my own pairings. Kinda loud TV sometimes and bathroom was broken. But meat and fixings mostly make up for the rest.

A chance visit to this place was like finding hidden treasure. The food was great and the staff was super friendly. They even remembered my name as I was exiting. Sometimes its about the little things, the small details that are never remembered elsewhere. Keep up the good work guys.

I've lived in the Richmond District about 28 years! & i have got to say this is by far the best sandwiches i have ever tried, why didn't i discover this place sooner! i got the Thurs. Special Reuben the owner recommend it! Thank you! the meat was so tender, mix in the cold slaw, pickles, & the sauce! oh my god! this sandwich is awesome! Can't wait to come back & try the other sandwiches!

Awesome huge sandwich and fast service. Unless you're starving better, you'll only eat only half of it. I was a bit overwhelmed with the menu so I asked the manager to recommend one and was not disappointed.

We ordered the special Angus beef and requested another type of cheese to be added. We were charged additional but wasn't made aware to us. The food was really good and David (the owner) stepped in and made it even better with his exceptional customer service. He fixed the charge and also gave us free dessert (pretty tasty). This is beyond our expectation. Thanks David and hope your business continue to do well. You changed this 4 star to a 5 star.

Ask for the gluten free menu—they offer in-house rotisserie options and make two kinds of gluten free sandwich bread and they seem well aware of cross contamination concerns. In other words, they are quite celiac friendly!

We are visiting family here in San Francisco and we hung out at kawika's everyday. This deli has off the hook spicy pulled pork and delicious sandwiches and pastries. Very clean establishment with friendly customer service. It is the best hidden neighborhood secret so if you are on the beach near Balboa street it is a one block walk from the beach and well worth it!
