Marcella's Lasagneria & Cucina

It was none other than Lipstick Louie that called and left a voice mail asking for recommendations for the best lasagna in the city. He said he was planning on dropping off the last of the of Ercon Droopers to the Hinklestaff Laboratory there on Odin Lane about 5 pm and perhaps grab some Italian. Well, I hooked up with the the Lip and took him to Marcella's Lasagneria, and I'll tell you why...if you ask 20 people where's the best lasagna, you'll get 20 different answers. But here's the lowdown, I've been to about 40 different Italian restaurants in and around SF and I've never had better Abruzzo Lasagna than what they serve at Marcella's Lasagneria, and nothing even comes close, it's always an amazing dinner.

I dream about this lasagna. Hands down the best lasagna I’ve had in my life. I always order the lasagna “Abruzzo”. Its the right balance of cheese, sauce and everything you could ask for. It’s my favorite. I love that they serve it to you in a pan, it’s fun and was unexpected. It’s a great atmosphere, we love sitting outside. The only complaint is I wish they were open for dinner. If you have the opportunity to go by for lunch, it’s a definite must try!

small causal and local italian restaurant with amazing homemade dishes and a great cozy feeling. probably the best lasagna i’ve had. the chef is also such a character and made the experience so memorable. would come back to try the other dishes! keep in mind their odd hours. abruzzo: top tier lasagna! so juicy and flavorful. good portions can split into 2.

I was coming from Germany just for this amazing bomb LASAGNA!!! It’s the worlds best lasagne- you need to eat it! Also had the ravioli and cesser salad. Tast like Italy. The service was perfect and everyone super nice. For all my SF visiting I’ll come back. THANK YOU FOR THIS EXPERIENCE OF THE BEST FOOD IN TOWN ♥️

If only they were open for dinner too! Best lasagna ever! Sorry mom! My favorite is the Bolognese. Give them a call to order ahead of you're in a rush or for takeout. Love coming here! The staff is extremely friendly and remember your order when you walk in. The place is small, but there's seating both inside and out, so I've never waited long. The daily special is also great and made fresh every day. Usually easy to find street parking.

The anomaly that is the aggregate score of this establishment should tell you how awesome this place is. All dishes done with the freshest of ingredients. The man at the helm, Gian, is charming and has a fun ‘action Bronson’ vibe to him. In an era where San Francisco’s low key local haunts are disappearing at record numbers…. Glad to see what’s going on here is the exception to the rule. Highly recommend you give the menu/ service/ atmosphere a chance. cheers.

Laid back atmosphere, delicious food. What more could you ask for? Everything on the menu is good - literally. Order any pasta or lasagna and you'll be happy. Want extra to take home for the fam? Get one of their to-go pans (and remember to take a pic of the at-home heating instructions). If you want a pasta pan to go, make sure to give them at least 24 hours notice.

A large portion of heaven served on a pan - Marcella's delivers on their lasagna. Yes the hours are a bit limited but the lasagna is well worth the trip. Salad and bread are average, but you're not coming here for that. Our table loved both the abrusso and bolognese lasagnas. No reservations so our small group waited outside to be called in. The small circular tables can comfortably sit 3, so larger groups may need to sit outside or break into smaller units. The really friendly owner served us. He seems to have tons of return customers and knows the neighborhood well.
