Romantic and chilling dinner vibes!
We went there for the date night and the experience was great. The services is phenomenon because the server is so helpful and active.
The food was great overall. A bit disappointed for the Uni that it would be Bafun Uni (Hokkaido) but got the Santa Barbara one.
Overall, great experience with great food.

Great dinner experience. Thank you for superb food. The vinegar for the sushi rice is different but good too. We had a good time. The people at adjacent table probably had too much alcohol and were a little loud. Overall it looks like a small operation with two waitstaff and one sushi chef and a couple more in the back kitchen.

I had without a doubt the best bite of omakase here. Chef Jay provided us with an amazing unforgettable experience. All the Spanish fish we had melted in my mouth like butter. I cannot wait to return.

The food was AMAZING - Chef Jay prepared our exclusive omakase menu with a deft hand and thoughtful touch. My favorite items were the Spanish tuna and Tofu Custard. Chef Jay truly provided exceptional care for our meal and was graciously friendly. Our waiter was also extremely thoughtful and they catered to my partner's left handed preference without saying a word. We dined on Sunday evening and the ambience was quiet yet enthralling. Sushihon is a must try!!

Love the food and the staff!
Update (2023): still good food and great staff. Prices have gone up slightly but I still think it's worth it. You can always find a seat here on a weekday without reservations.

Good experience sitting at the sushi bar. We even complimented the chef with his saki preference. There is 18% gratuity —- for 2 people our bill was 550$

One of my go-to omakase dining experiences in the Bay! Perfect amount of food, and love the variety of places they source their fish from - Japan to CA to NZ and others. Delicious!

Came here on a Monday evening with last minute reservations at 6:15pm. We made the reservations on OpenTable just 45 minutes before the seating, and they had it available yay! We came with a party of 6 so we weren’t easily able to sit at the bar, but it was a good dinner with good people nonetheless. The omakase was $115 per person not including tax and tips, but is reasonably priced compared to other spots in the city. We didn’t opt in for the supplements since most people were full, but if I was paying myself, I would have! They had uni and a5 wagyu on there that I definitely would’ve liked to try. The miso at the end was very pleasant after all that rice, and the soy bean panna cotta was so perfectly made. Not too sweet and perfectly creamy yet like a pudding with textures from pistachios and crispy rice balls. Service was on-point and timely. The lady coming around with ginger refills really made my colleague happy! Overall solid and not overly seasoned. Would love to return and try the supplements and sit at the bar next time :)

Really nice sushi joint. We had the $115 tasting menu for each person. It was a good amount of food, and was incredible. The fatty tuna was so good. Limited selection outside of some upsells on the tasting menu. Service was top notch. The restaurant is cozy and a little off the beaten path. Definitely earned its $$$$ rating.

Truly a spectacular experience.
I came here on the recommendation of my friend who’s a SF local and this place did not disappoint.
Every part of the evening was like an artistic performance. Every little detail- in how the food was made, plated, served- how each cup and glass was placed- how each server was so attentive and graceful.
Each course was so well executed and the details and story behind each piece was concisely narrated.
I cannot even begin to recount what each piece of nigiri was- but it was a wide range of different fishes from all over- each piece was fresh and flavorful and well thought out.
I highly recommend getting the supplement- those were my favorite nigiri of the evening.
Price wise, I can’t speak for the Bay Area, but generally, omakase where I’m from (east coast) will run you about the same, or even a little more. Do know that they include a (very WELL deserved) 20% service charge.
I will recommend sushi hon to all my friends and family!
