Smitten Ice Cream

This place tops our list of ice cream in SF. There is no fresher and more consistent ice cream than a fresh batch of smitten ice cream made with liquid nitrogen right in front of you. They have many flavors but it’s hard to beat sweet/salty mix of the the cookie dough ice cream with pretzels in a waffle cone.

Best Chocolate Ice cream Smitten offers, hands down, the best chocolate ice cream in San Francisco. I'm usually not a big fan of ice cream, especially chocolate, but Smitten has completely changed my perspective. Their unique method of using liquid nitrogen results in incredibly smooth ice cream. I also sampled their pumpkin spice flavor, which was a delightful balance of flavor without being overly sweet. The customer service is outstanding – they're both helpful and accommodating. As a bonus, when I visited with vegan friends, Smitten had great options for them too. A must-visit for any ice cream lover!

While visiting San Francisco, I went to Smitten Ice Cream. Having the ice cream here was one of my favourite highlights of my trip to California! I got the Brookies ‘N Cream and Chocolate Ganache flavours in their House-Made Waffle Bowl. I absolutely loved the chunks of brownies and cookies in the Brookies ‘N Cream flavour, especially the big chunks! I also loved the strong and rich flavour of chocolate in the Chocolate Ganache flavour. Their Home-Made Waffle Bowl was just amazing! It was quite strong and thick and held the ice cream scoops without breaking down at all, but it also wasn’t very hard and it was quite flavourful. It’s also really cool how they make the ice cream fresh right in front of you. Every order is made fresh using the ingredients for the ice cream and liquid nitrogen right in front of you in approximately 90 seconds, which I think is amazing. I am so glad that I came here, and I really enjoyed both the ice creams and the waffle bowl!
