Kusina Ni Tess

I've been going here for a really long time. Tess KNOWS how to cook authentic Filipino, None of this asian fusion nonsense. Her Beef Nilaga reminds me of home. Boneless daing na bangus - I can't live without. Her smile always welcomes and her food always satisfies. I'm too full to partake of the kakanin but it looks legit. KNT is an SF institution.

A really down to earth type of restaurant with AMAZING FOOD! There's not much seating area so get it for take out if you can. The food is great but slightly pricey. But that's just me being cheap. Come here for the fantastic food. They do it really wel. A family run restaurant well know to the locals. I'll be coming again

Special low-key place in the Tenderloin/Union Square area for tasty Pilipinx food. Manny and Marina and the rest of the aunties are super friendly and you know the service and food are made with love. I recommend the Tapsilog plate and the crispy deep fried pork with the gravy dip. Been twice here now in one month and just love this welcoming and busy joint. They have some tables to sit at, but they can all be taken during lunchtime. And an extra special thanks to them for saving my Fanny pack when I accidentally left there. Highly recommended!!

Amazing Filipino food. The pancit was great (order 20 minutes+ ahead of you want this), same with the chicken adobo, the tapsilog, and the lumpia. We had family friends from the Philippines who would share their amazing food with us. We’ve moved away and have been looking for some great Filipino comfort food since. This place is now it!

Absolutely delightful hole-in-the-wall Filipino comfort food restaurant near Union Square. The food is served with a huge heaping of grandmotherly love. I ordered the tapsilog, which was perfectly flavored, followed by the crunchy-sweet turon for dessert. Fancy this place is not, but the value and quality make Kusina Ni Tess well worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Felt like I was eating food from my mom and late grandmother. I was staying near the area and wanted an early breakfast. This place was open at 7am and I'm glad Google lead me to it. Tosilog and Embotido hit the spot and kept me full for majority of the day! Come here. The prices are diff good (esp for being in the city). Filipino Comfort Food at its finest.
