Wine jar is the perfect place for a date or an intimate hangout. The only thing was wine is a bit pricy and not that good in terms of value, but it was still a really fun experience and worth a stop if you're in the area!

An intimate and cozy place to sample an adequate variety of wines and beers. I like the comfortable, casual atmosphere and private booths. It even has some good snacks and eats. Highly recommended for a first date or romantic get together.

Cute neighborhood wine bar with group seating areas. Pours are good and selection is vast.

A cute little wine bar in Pac Heights. They offer a handful of wine by both the glass and bottle. Happy Hour offers a 20% discount on all bottles! The have bar seats to couches in which you can sit. Definitely a nice place to enjoy a glass of wine and conversation with friends.

We found this place after dinner as the only bar nearby. Bartender was more concerned with talking to someone at the end of the bar. We wanted to relax for a bit but the SMELL, the SMELL in there. It's like a dirty gym bag! There was a few couples around us who seemed to be enjoying themselves but we couldn't get passed it. We split a glass of wine out of sheer obligation, paid our tab and left.

Cozy spot for an afternoon wine rendezvous with a small group (2-6 people). Friendly staff, happy hour is 20% off bottles from 4-7pm and you have the option to bring in outside food.

What a pleasant surprise to find such a low key and comfortable spot to have an easy conversation without shouting or hearing mindless self absorbed vapid chatter. Happy hour prices on select bottles of wine and focused beer selection. Will come back to try appetizer assortment. Staff warm and welcoming.

The pros: The wine was good, the ambience was good on a Saturday night, and the room was very warm- which could be a good or bad thing. The cons: the server was unexpectedly callous to me for no apparent reason. First we weren't seated- we walked in confused and standing in the middle of the room not sure if we were supposed to be seated or otherwise. When the server came after was sat ourselves down, I asked if they had any open bottles to try, the server immediatelty shot me down saying that they don't allow a taste before buying the wine. This is somewhat of a red flag to me; these wines were sold both by the glass and the bottle and it wasn't clear why they didn't allow a taste before a $60 bottle. Then when I asked for water, the server dissmissed me and said " there's water next to the bathroom." And then when I asked if I could get separate checks for the bill, he said "No. Because it's one bottle, you can split the bill three ways but I can't do separate checks." My question must have meant something different to him because his answer was what I was asking about. I'm not sure why he felt the urge to shoot me down so strongly but it did dampen my experience here a bit. You can have a good location and good ambience but if you make people feel uncomfortable, you won't have a good business.
