Nice selection of Indian appetizers, entrees, and specials, all moderately priced, with items of interest to carnivores and herbivores alike. We enjoyed samosas and tandoori Meyer lemon shrimp as appetizers and lamb korma and chicken tikka masala as main plates. The mango lasso was excellent. Service was good.
For those looking for a satisfying pre-concert meal, Spice of America is convenient to Davies Symphony Hall and the War Memorial Opera House, and other concert venues in the Civic Center.
Only one other table of two were dining here when we had dinner at 7 PM on a Saturday night. Back in "normal times", we might have expected a full house on a weekend evening. Hopefully, business will pick up as the pandemic subsides. After the permanent closure of Mela Tandoori on Golden Gate Ave off Van Ness Ave, we believe Spice of America may be the only remaining Indian restaurant in the Civic Center neighborhood. We shall return.

The food's fine but they forget items in your order and don't refund them. I ordered directly from their website and picked it up myself. They left out some things.
You should unpack everything before you leave and make sure it's everything you ordered, because they won't trust you later.
[edit] I appreciate the refund, but I flagged this within 2 hours on Doordash, and called the restaurant directly. Only after I started posting on Google Maps and Yelp did they actually refund my missing items.

Based on the review ordered cauliflower rice combo and chapthi. Also 2 samosa.
My order had no Chapthi.. paid $3.95 and no chapthi added in the order. Very disappointed. Also samosa was not cooked well.. it was kind an uncooked flour samosa. Not good food at all. One of the guy handed in the food bag at the restaurant entrance.. customers could not go in. Well. 1st time try and last time here at this Spice of America in SFO.

This hidden gem we recently discovered this week and visited it twice.
We are planning to visit it often till we are here.
It is near to NEMA and 1550 and Twitter HQ.
Everything here is wow.
Specially RJ and Bimla staff members.
RJ has impressed us with his next level customer services, empathy and positive persona.
The food here is indian inspired and vegetarian too.
Each food item is love love love

Nice presentation of food and the service, servers were extremely good. The food was good but lacked salt and spices. We tried the thali and the butter chicken. The paneer was really good.

"I think I have a new favorite Indian restaurant" -Me "There are no Indian restaurants after this one" - My partner. Food here was unlike any Indian cuisine I've tasted. All the regular dishes but prepared in a way that can only be described as superlative. They are the Michelangelo of flavor.

Very interesting kind of Indian fusion place. We tried the kale and bhel which was basically pakoda but made of kale. I never realized it was made of kale. We also tried Bombay chat which was pani puri + aloo tikki. Pani puri was okay, but the aloo tikki felt too oily. We had chole masala as the entree, but it did not impress us. It felt like it was missing spices. Naan was good.

Literally my favorite Indian place in SF. Get the platter. I came here 3 times in a week once, no shame- no regrets.
