Pho 54

My family has been going to Pho 54 for years! We have tried many other pho restaurants throughout SJ but always return to 54. The pho broth is consistently on point and the meat portions are huge even for a “small” bowl. Do not be intimated by the location or appearance as it is pretty old school but that’s what makes it so special.

I started to love this place even before I tasted my delicious Fried Pork w/ Rice. From the moment I walked in, I could smell something good cooking. I was invited to sit down, I almost changed my mind on take out. Because I felt like I was being invited to eat by a friend's grandparents. While sitting & waiting for my food, which came out quicker than expected, I was given a cup of tasty iced tea & the older gentleman kindly reminded me to hydrate, since I was on a bike. Then I tasted the food. It was so tasty! The pork has a perfect amount of char on it. With a tender juicy meatiness. I wish I could just order a pound of this perfect pork with quintessential rice.

My absolute favorite dish to get is the grilled pork rice plate. It comes with an ample serving of rice the most delicious chin and juicy pork with just the perfect amount of char. Some lettuce and cucumber and pickled radish and carrots. A bowl of broth with herbs and the delightfully sweet and sour fish sauce dish with a nice chunk of garlic. Hot tea and water comes standered to your table. And the family run shop is always working hard. This is a popular little hole-in-the-wall . Affordable But it's cash only.

The most accommodating, friendly, and delicious pho joint in the Bay. My friends and I are from San Jose and this is one of our favorites. My friend had her bachelorette party truly ESSJ style with her favorite spot being Pho 54. They went above and beyond to make sure she had a memorizable time. They allowed us to decorate BTS theme and even insisted playing their music on the tv! It was truly a tailored experience. We were so lucky to be treated so kindly. We will always promote and support Pho 54. Come here!
