Pho Bang

I'm basing my score on what the restaurant was because it still carries the same name of the Vietnamese restaurant it once was and its the reason I returned because I was expecting the same food. For those who know this place because of its dominant location at the busy corner of Tully and King in San Jose the neighborhood is mostly Mexican and Vietnamese cultures that intertwine in area stores and and food experiences. This restaurant adapted to this culture from what it was. The menu offers Mexican, a very limited Pho selection only, and to my surprise a small side menu of sushi. We went for the Pho and ended up ordering siete mares and aguachiles and a side of spring rolls ( it was obvious by the sauce served with it that I was no longer the same people running it ). The rolls themselves were pretty good b<t also didn't offer Soy Sauce on the tables, so I was stuck using Sriracha and some very dried up chile with at one time oil. The food we received was very well prepared and a great 5 star presentation 5 and tasted great. Expect to pay about $50 for 2 they do take card. This is definitely not the Vietnamese food place people may not expect, but I was a nice place to check out.

*READ THIS BEFORE VISITING* I am writing this review as a warning but a good warning. This place is no longer pho bang but a half Mexican half Vietnamese (possibly) location named Los Arcos. Their menu options are limited but they offer chicken or beef pho (Chicken is yummy and portions are great). My hubby had the pozole which he said was fine and the horchata was my FAVORITE!! Give this place a try before turning it away.

I love this place the food is always fresh and piping hot. The Pho Ga is my favorite. The vegetable egg rolls are to die for. A homeless man started a fire and they had to shut down. Thankfully, they are going to be re-opening on December 6th, 2022. I am excited. It’s a small family owned business that has been there for decades. Please come and support it after being shut down for months it must be difficult and this is an awesome place to go for Vietnamese authentic food.

A surprisingly large menu, a with just a bit of Mexican influence, in a setting with a convenience store in the front. They have five vegetarian options, which is great. We hade the tofu fresh rolls and the vegetables Pho, both of which were good. The gourmet beef Pho was also delicious. We love Salted Plum Soda, you should try it. The seating is comfy, but could be a pinch cleaner. The service was friendly and the food comes out fast.

The number 1 go to spot for Pho. It’s been a Long time favorite for my family. We’ve Been eating here for many many years. The broth is always on point. The meat selections are delicious. Spring rolls are the best. Fried chicken wings are the crispiest and juiciest. Quality is 100% every time. I Take my family here to eat at least once a week without failure. Tony and his family always make everyone there feel like part of their family.
