Boiling Point San Mateo is a great location for this tasty hot pot chain. The management was very attentive and helpful and so was the staff, I had no choice but to drop a 25% tip!
Wait area is a large bar area with no service after pulling your number, so good for resting and waiting.
I usually get the lamb pot and green tea. The spicy Taiwanese is insanely spicy... you have been warned!

The place has a good ambiance and great food. We were a huge party and they could accommodate us all. The requests after we got our food got a slow response but overall it was a good experience.

It's my second time here and I ordered the sea food combo. It comes with a bowl of rice and condiments. You are served this boiling pan that has glass noodles, lettuce, and sea food. Even though it was seafood it still contained lots of pieces of pork meat. So keep that in mind.
The restaurant is quite cold itself inside in the winter so ordering this item makes sense to keep you warm. However, not so good in the summer.
The food was just OK. I will not say this is something to get excited about.
Service was acceptable. The owner has hired a lot of very young people to run the place. They seemed to be undertrained. I saw a waitress drop the lid of the condiments on the floor. She then picked it up and put it back on the container. If you're going to do it at least don't do it in front of all the customers 😖😷. The restrooms were not well maintained either.
Expect to pay about $20 for dinner. Parking in downtown San Mateo can be difficult.

4 stars for food and decor. 3 stars for service. Ordered Korean bean paste, the Lamb, and the Milk Curry. The crown daisy in the Korean bean paste pot was a good balance to the other ingredients. The lamb pot was my favorite. We ordered mild but the pots were all spicy to our taste. The lemonade shots at the end were refreshing. Service was cold. Wait staff disappeared after he brought us the food. It was hard to get their attention for water refills and to get our check.

Pretty solid hot pot though it's hard to get over how expensive these meals can get, depending on how many additional ingredients you order. I ordered their beef hot soup with medium spiciness for takeout during covid-19. The broth had just the right amount of heat and flavor. The beef was reasonably tender. The soup was pretty packed with vegetables (a mini corn on the cob, some greens and mushrooms), fish cakes, and vermicelli noodles.
They also included three additional sauces, including some yummy hot sauce.
Perhaps the cutest thing was that they branded one of their fish cakes with "I❤️BP" ("I love Boiling Point" lol)

First time. Nice ambience. Very clean. Wait wasn't too long on a Saturday night for two about 15 minutes. Service was good. Ordered house special and seasonal pomelo broths. Both were good (about $16 each) but not sensational. Would visit again.

This is a hot pot you can eat in your own pot. The taste of the food I ordered reminded me of Hungchun's specialty in Taiwan's Kenting Area.

Me and my wife come to this place every week. It's hard to believe we've been here so many times, but the soup is actually quite good and reasonably priced. Our favorite picks are the Thai Fusion and the Lamb Soup. Add extra Vermicelli and you'll be all set. Waiters are friendly and don't mind bringing you extra broth at no additional charge
