Flames & Skewers

Wow. It has been some time since I met staff that was so delightfully friendly. Their happy demeanor accented a wonderful plate that was large enough that I couldn't finish it, and that is saying something. Halfway through my meal they finished a batch of new pita, and I have never had pita like that before. I will be coming back soon! (next time I will include a food photo. Jumped in too fast because it was so good!)

When we arrived around 2PM it was not busy at all, quiet frankly it was empty, so we lucked out. I ordered chicken schwarmma and fries, my wife ordered chicken kabobs, rice, salad, hummus. Food was good and didn't disappoint. The only issue was the air conditioner wasn't working properly, so imagine how uncomfortable me and my wife was during a hot summer day. But overall not a bad place for a quick bite.

The food here was fine but after I ordered I was left waiting for over 30 minutes for my kabob bowl and kids meal. I don't mind waiting but they never said a word to me as they proceeded to serve 6 different guests who ordered after I did. One guest had ordered five bowls, another 3 full meals. I watched as their food was prepped before mine and served. There was even an awkward moment when a woman was served who had ordered the same meal as me pointed at me and said "he was here first." There may have been a perfectly good reason it took so long but the utter lack of communication and lukewarm food left me feeling frustrated and dearly wishing I hadn't paid ahead of time so I could have just left. If the proprietors are reading this: please train your staff to communicate if something is taking longer than expected and maybe offer an alternative that will be faster. A simple "hey the fries are taking extra long, would you like to wait or sub out for rice instead?" would have been the difference between a great experience and a irritating one.

Ordered grape leaves from the restaurant. Didn't know their grape leaves would come with a nice coat of mold. If this is how they handle their food and if their servers can't even take the time to do a visual inspection before handing to customer, I don't think this is a business that should be open for business.

Excellent quality and quantity!! Wow, they give generous portions! Fresh cooked to order, be prepared to wait but it is worth it! My favorite is the double protein plate with beef kabob. Steak is better than the average steak house. Add the side of garlic sauce, it brings a whole new dimension to the plate. Plus they have perfectly seasoned crinkle cut fries. (My weakness!)
