85° C Bakery Cafe

We’re always impressed by 85°’s breads and desserts. Our most recent purchase was of a cream cheesecake for our younger son’s 1-year-old birthday…and it was great! Don’t imagine a thick New York cheesecake here; it’s far more light and airy. Also, if you ask, they give you a free package of candles when you buy a cake.

I wasn’t going to review this this bakery. It seemed average. I grabbed a few things to take home for breakfast. Wellll!!! Ok this is not average at all! Yum! Big regrets on only getting 2 items. I had the milk biscuit and an almond bun. Flaky goodness! I didn’t get good pics because I wasn’t going to do a review. If you want a delicious treat. Stop! Buy one! Enjoy!!

Great place, has a lot of variety. Bought a few different desserts to try. The price was surprisingly reasonable for all we had. My family & I enjoyed a bit of each treat. In my opinion the blueberry cheesecake was by far the best 🫐🍰 My son's loved the cookies & cream cup. And also, the chocolate chip cookies 🍪 Would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

First time in an 85°C Bakery Cafe and I definitely enjoyed what I had. It was hard to choose as everything looked great and there was plenty for a vegetarian like me to choose from. I settled on a Spinach and Kale Danish which may have been an odd choice for this decidedly Asian-feel bakery...but it was as good as I'd had anywhere else. I took a milk-tea muffin home which I had that evening. The texture of the bread part itself was a tiny bit rubbery for my tastes but the custard filling was a surprise and delicious. The star for me was the Iced Sea Salt Tea. The thick se-salt infused cream at the top fo the drink, mixed with the black oolong tea as absolutely crave-worthy and a drink I will definitely go back to many times. There's a lot more to try (and I will.) My major complaint is my wife is gluten-free and they have absolutely nothing gluten-free so I won't be able to head there that much without excluding her from getting anything. So bummer there. Otherwise, I really dug what I got.

Overall, a VERY GOOD Asian bakery in the SCV. The Loaf (japanese bakery in Newhall) is better if you want more taste and simple breads, but 85 degrees has a MUCH bigger variety of breads, delicious perfectly crafted desserts, and a huge variety of drinks including boba and coffee. I like coming here, the bread is always fresh. Staff has always been nice and the store does feel pretty clean.
