The Grill From Ipanema

Since I first stepped through the door 8 years ago, this restaurant has set themselves apart from every other restaurant I've been to in many ways. Their meats are always rich in flavor (I'm particularly fond of the juicy top sirloin and lamb), and the staff are always so friendly and attentive, even if I'm just getting something from the salad bar or needing to use the restroom. In Particular, Patrick radiates a friendly energy and is knowledgeable about the food and the restaurant itself without a hint of snobbery, which I appreciate. There was also another young man bringing out meats tonight whose name I wish I had gotten, because he was energetic, friendly and quickly caught on to what I and my husband prefer. Tonight, the cooks set themselves apart in a whole new (to me) way. They were serving salmon, which I normally can't stand, and have tried numerous times over the years at other restaurants, but the platter they approached our table with was a feast for the eyes, making it impossible for me to pass up, and I'm so glad I gave it a try, because it was such a pleasant shock for my tastebuds. The distinct, fishy flavor I've come to expect from salmon was NOWHERE to be found, and in its place was a whole new mellow, but rich flavor, complimented with just a touch a citrus alongside a pleasant mozzarella melted over the top which added to the fall-apart texture of the meat, and made me savor each bite. I honestly never thought I'd say such things about salmon, but there's a first time for everything, right? From the lovely lady who showed us to our table, to the servers, to the entire kitchen staff, thank you all for another wonderful culinary experience! As a person born and raised in Brazil this place is super approved. This is the best brazilian steakhouse in the area. Everything my husband and I ate we absolutely loved. The staff was great and we never felt neglected by any of the gauchos. Really nice bossa nova as background music as well :) Very nice place for an evening out

This place is a diamond in the rough. Located on 1st Avenue between battery and Bell Street it has incredible views of sunsets. Parking is ample and across the street and very inexpensive. The food is absolutely amazing. Whatever kind of meat you like they have it. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Ironically for a place that primarily serves meat one of the best things they have is the appetizer cheese balls. You definitely have to try them. Although it is a bit pricey it is definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this. We will be going back again for sure

COME HUNGRY; I cannot emphasize this enough. Me and my partner came here for Restaurant Week 2023 and - despite the "limited" options due to our menu choice - we were fit to burst by the time we left. We were provided an appetizer of fried cheese balls and fried bananas, the bananas were fine (might've worked better as a dessert) but the cheese balls were great and we ended up asking for a couple extra plates worth. The salad bar is extensive but taste-wise, somewhat disappointing. But the meat options were very plentiful. Almost too plentiful at times, it felt like the waiters came by so often that if you said yes everytime they offered, your food would get cold while you were working your way through it. But all in all, definitely worth a visit.

We used a Groupon to visit this restaurant and we'll visit again. The service was exemplary; they offered 17 different meats/seafood in the revolving tableside service. I've been to more than a couple Brazilian steak houses and this is one of the better ones. The salad bar wasn't extensive but it had plenty of delicious offerings. We walked both to and from the ferry and it was a pleasant 1 mile walk- especially after dinner.

Greeted by the most Amazing Server, Melissa! She made the experience worth every penny and more! Attentive, funny, and even offered and took several photos of our family celebration so we had the memories. Honestly I have never felt so cared for by a server in my 60 years eating out. The drinks were very slow to come out from the bar. The restaurant was busy, but they only had one bartender so order another round as soon as you get your first round if you plan on having more than one drink. The meats were delicious and plentiful. 16 different meats and the grilled pineapple are just mouthwatering. The salad bar is so fresh and delicious! The Groucho’s don’t talk much, but do carve great meat. Definitely worth the visit. And make sure you sit in Melissa’s section! You will leave full, happy and laughing!

It takes a long time to eat dinner here, as they have to keep going back to the kitchen to cook the meat more once they give a few people the outside cooked pieces. We were there when it wasn't that busy, and it would sometimes be 10 minutes before more meat came out. Usually it was only a minute or two between the skewers though. Love the pineapple! Grilled and covered with cinnamon, so good!

We had a great time and enjoyed the food tremendously. We are going back next week with a friend to enjoy somemore of that mozzarella infused meet. The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet, when we arrived the place was pretty empty but began filling up quickly. The staff were great and attentive. however when paying the waiter was gone forever with my card. So long that I almost went looking for him. The night was a success still and I enjoyed it as did my fiance.

I was a bit nervous after reading a few of the reviews because we were going out for my husband's birthday and I wanted to make sure that I chose well. I'm glad we gave it a chance because it was incredibly delicious! The staff, from the moment we entered and even as we were walking out, were friendly, attentive, and did an outstanding job! The food was plentiful and absolutely flavorful! We were never without something being offered. We left absolutely and happily stuffed. My husband had an awesome birthday dinner! We live over an hour away but will definitely come back again when in the area.
