Ma'ono Fried Chicken

Update: This place has now moved inside Benbow Room. There is a small door where they place all online orders! Still the best! My fav friend chicken sandwich spot in Seattle. I have been on a fried chicken sandwich hunt and have tried several spots in Seattle in 2021 but nothing beats Maono. I have tried their chicken sandwiches at the UVillage location and I am so happy to have then close to home in West Seattle. The flavors, taste juicy chicken, pickles and toasted bun all tastes the same - Delicious. We also ordered the kimchi mac and cheese, soam musubi, side of corn, fries and brown garlic rice. Loved all the sides except the side of corn which was okay. The sandwich was amazing with perfect crunch, juicy, well seasoned fried chicken and a spicy sauce. You can add spice levels to your sandwich - naked, mild, medium, hot and x hot. I always enjoy the hot sandwich but thats cos I am a spice lover. My husband and friends stick to medium spice levels in their sandwich and enjoy it. Customer service was great. Ambience at this West Seattle location is also great. Be careful, even though this place is open until 10pm, the kitchen is open only until 9pm and the bar is open until 10pm. Highly recommend trying out any Maono location while in Seattle.

The food was good. A chicken sandwich and a 2 pc chicken combo. The chicken sandwich wasn't very crispy but still good. The 2 pc was split 1 tender 1 drummy. The tender wasn't crispy but the drumstick was. Bad night for tenders or they sat too long. Spam masubi was good. Overall pleasant experience.

This spot is definitely a must go to, I know it's a little on the outskirts in west Seattle and that drive can be tedious especially with the bridge bring closed. But the chicken i mean look at the picture and how much it glosses and the drinks were definitely amazing had to get two of them. I liked the glass they were served in. The interior design is very nice, a little dark on the lighting but a nice spot to enjoy a good chicken sandwich and islander drinks after work. Check out this spot if you're ever in the area I know I'll stop by again for sure

Please never change Ma'Ono. The perfect balance of light and heavy with a cold asian pear and beet salad with roasted sesame, and my favorite chicken sandwich. Don't underestimate the spice either! No refunds if you cannot handle it! The pickled daikon adds something really special. Best chicken sandwich in the city. No 🧢

good fried chicken is something that's more of an art than science, and it's very easy to slip and wind up with something soggy, tasteless, or heavy. This place does none of those things, and delivered a fried chicken was crispy and tender and full of flavor. Major bonus points for the service as well, which was efficient and fast even on a slammed Sunday afternoon. The only knock I have on the place was the $9 side of macaroni and cheese that was more salt than spice, though it was plentiful and could have been its own meal.

I enjoyed my visit to Ma’ono. I’m not in West Seattle very often, but I found myself there on a Friday night and it was still open at 9pm so I visited. I’ve been to the window they have at U Village and enjoyed it, but had not yet visited the original location. There were a bunch of tables available as the main dinner rush was on its way out. When we left there were many more tables open. The restaurant does feel a little Hawaiian without being kitschy but overall it’s contemporary and rather dimly lit. The waitstaff were capable and helpful. I ended up sharing a mild spicy fried chicken sandwich, Ma’ono burger, and an order of fries. Everything tasted great. The fried chicken was moist and had a nice crust on it. The fries were tasty as well – nicely fried and not too greasy. My favorite item was the burger. The ground chuck had a deep beefy flavor and the toppings were tasty too. My favorite part of the burgers were the Hawaiian sweet roll buns. They’re similar to the one’s you’ll find in stores, but they are bigger to accommodate burgers. I had a good meal and would return.

Very tasty food for brunch and the best options among our orderings are the fried chicken and the warm fresh sweet rolls. The sweet rolls are definitely highly recommended. Reasonable “Seattle” price. The staff seem overall worn with the amount of customer flow and taking care of multiple tables at one time. Better management needed.
