Northlake Tavern & Pizza House

They are closed as of 1/31/2023 and we are sad. We tried to get in for one last pizza during their last two weeks and weren't successful. ☹ On our first try, we went on a Monday, only to find out they weren't open on Mondays. On our second (and last) try, we arrived at 3:20 pm. After standing on line, we finally made it in the front door at 5:00 pm. At 5:20 pm, with two groups still in front of us, they announced that they were closed, with a 2 hour backlog of orders, and since the posted closing time was 7:00 pm. Oh well, lots of memories of eating here in the past. Another Seattle-area institution is gone.

We went during their last month in business. The 4 hour wait was a bit much but I suspect it was due to years' worth of customers coming by for "just one more Northlake Pizza". They did miss the pizza we ordered to eat there, to go along with the two unbaked pizzas we ordered to go, but they kept our beverages topped up. Honestly, I'm certain they were caught unprepared for the business they got behind the news they were closing forever at the end of January 2023. Despite the standing-room only crowd, the phone ringing off the hook, and the 50 orders ahead of us, the two pizzas we took home to Tacoma to bake (yes, Tacoma) were everything we remembered about proper Northlake Pizza. Sad to see Northlake Pizza go, but they had a great run (1954-2023), and had once been touted as the best pizza in the country. Thanks for all the good memories.

Cute old school spot with filling pizza and cool illustrations on the walls. A bit chaotic service even though they weren’t busy but homey in that way. Main thing: wish it was easier to know when they were open and be able to count on it. I’ve seen so many places close that don’t stay open at regularly posted hours. I hope this place sticks around!

It's been here since 1954, has survived the many cities Seattle has been during that time, and has delicious "secret family recipe"-style pizza with a stable set of lovable wait staff who have seen it all. Secretly some of Seattle's best pizza, with cartoon art by the local David Horsey. Football games are always on here if that's your thing - it's definitely a UW bar. Get the Logger if it's your first time, it's delicious, and remember to back in to the parking spots out front! 🍕🍺

I went there with a good friend of mine who grew up in the area many moons ago and he said the pizza is just as good as it was when he was a kid in the dark ages lol. I didn't get his name but the guy who took our order said the cook has been there for over 30 years so I thought that was pretty cool . This was the second time my friend took me there and both times the pizza was amazing and the staff was super friendly and efficient. When so many longtime businesses did not survive the pandemic it makes me happy that there are still a few independent non-chain pizza joints and I will gladly give them my business. It also have that good down home welcoming atmosphere and though I was driving and I could not have a tasty adult beverage I did notice they had a good selection of beer.🎯 So they get 5 stars and an A+ rating even though they did not remind me that my car warranty was about to expire😎 Maybe next time🤔

Satisfied is what comes to mind when thinking about this place and that feeling comes from the fact that I can get a bite to eat, charge my esk8 board so that I can finish the lake loop with enough power to get home and I’ll tell you right now that it’s not as easy to find a plug-in as you would think and some people and places protect the outlets like liquid gold come out of it or it’s going to cost them somthing for me to plug in, and I might use 33 cents in precious electricity and I’ll spend a lot more eating and drinking waiting for the old board to load up and this place was user friendly and has a plug-in right by the door and just sit near it to keep an eye on it but the place looks really good honest people go there so I wouldn’t worry for a min about it! Hay thanks so much for the plug in and meal I’ll be back!!
