Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar

What an incredible experience. Everyone complaining about the guy wearing ear buds needs to chill. He is working his a** off at a place that feels very family run. Half dozen incredibly fresh oysters, the captains basket, oyster bar special and a bottle of wine for $81! Fresh, well prepared. Hottest horseradish I've ever had. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Seattle.

Came specifically for their Broiled Oysters and the food did not disappoint. Oysters & Fries were crispy and the Steamed Clams & Mussels in Garlic Broth served with sliced bread was fresh. Restaurant gets packed very quickly because of the food and the atmosphere. A must place to eat when strolling through Pike Place Market.

We happened to be in Seattle for my husband's birthday and all he really wanted was oysters. He wasn't thrilled about the walk from the monorail to the Public Market but it was all good once we dove into the oysters at one of Seattle's oldest oyster bars. Emmett's was a bit tricky to find as it was tucked back away from the main market thoroughfare but that actually contributed to the good experience as we didn't really need to deal with a lot of crowds or competition once we got to the restaurant. It is close to the first Starbucks so if you can find that (just look for the super long line), you're close. We sat at the outdoor patio and it was such a comfortable, relaxing area. The service was great even though they were short staffed. Decent selection of oysters- we actually got another dozen after the first. We also got the Captain's basket with a selection of fried fish, clams, oysters, shrimp. Definitely worth a visit. We stopped by on a Thursday around 1:30 and didn't need to wait at all.

Usually when we say "let's get oysters" it's a cocktail scene, with bivalves served on ice by well-dressed waiters. Emmett Watson's is not that kind of place, but it delivers on oysters all the same. While at first I was confused to not see varieties on the menu, I later learned Emmett charges the same price regardless of oysters, and serves only what they have fresh that day. With barnacles on them and a sense they hadn't been out of the water all that long, we each had 6-12 oysters, a cheap domestic beer, and went on our way to continue touring the pikes place market.
