Kitty Cafe

Consistently have come here when traveling through Seattle. It's such a great experience being able to hang out with cats and sip your coffee along side furry friends. Only complaint is the cats aren't up for adoption. I wish they focused more on getting animals adopted to good homes than just showing them off.

The cats were adorable!! So many cats to love on. One cat claimed my daughter's lap for half of our thirty minute window! She loved it. We got lots of adorable pictures. Some kitties are sleepy, some are playful, some are lovey, some are stand off-ish, and one liked to hang out in the rafters away from the humans! Loved it! The rest of the experience, on the other hand, was lacking. The merch was engh. I mean, they sold crystals and Buddha's...at a cate cafe? Wuuuuh? Would like to have had more options for merch with the cafe's name on it. Also, a lot of stuff was sold out - over half the t-shirts weren't in stock. The big dig I have against the cafe was that there were no drinks or food available. Not exactly a cafe without those. We went on a Wednesday. Apparently they don't do drinks or food on weekdays? Only Fri-Sun?? That was not stated anywhere when I made my reservation. Feel a bit cheated. There wasn't even water or canned beverages for us to buy to tide us over. So if you see all the cute pictures of cat faces drawn in coffee foam, don't expect that if you go on a weekday.

We had a private room reservation. Loved the multiple kitties. Some were playful, some sleepy, and some calm and welcoming of pets. Well thought out room with little nooks, bridges, and platforms. Would have rated it higher but not a fan of the pay per person format. A place like this should be a flat fee for a private room. I recommend buying tickets for the minimum, and then I'm sure they would let you add on extra people at the door. Otherwise if you buy tickets for the exact number of people and then someone cancels last minute, you won't get a refund for that person.

This is definitely a place to go to be with cats. There are many of them there, and they are gentle and sweet. Some are more interactive than others. I didn't realize they don't sell food anymore (probably due to covid?), and the drinks were cute but not very good. So, don't go for the food and drinks, go for the cats.

We recently lost our beloved senior cat, so I went to Seattle Meowtropolitan to visit the lovely cats there. (Some of them are in fact up for adoption! It seems there is a core group of cats that live permanently at the cafe and then adoptable cats are brought in periodically. It seems they get adopted quickly given how easy you get to know them.) My experience was that the cats had plenty of space to move about, but the majority of them were quite used to people and excited for attention. I was expecting them to be more standoffish but within minutes a big grey and white tuxedo sweetheart had forced their way into my lap, and two younger cats were happily chasing any toy I waved at them. If you need a quiet moment with lots of happy cats, this is the place to go.
