Mei Mei Cafe

This tiny cafe is pretty simple and small, but the quality and flavor of the food is excellent. The owners are super sweet and personable. I decided to go with an item on the specials board, a red braised pork with Chinese potatoes. The lady was concerned if I would like what she said was very Chinese dish and offered to make me a sample. She came out with a small sample for me and my friends, which was delicious. The food portions are quite large and meant to be shared, Chinese style. 1 dish with rice could easily feed 2 people. Dishes were about $11-13 on average. They have ample parking. They don't deliver but they do have an online menu system to place a take out order. Highly recommend!

While maybe not the most authentic Chinese food place in the city, it certainly hit the spot for what i was looking for. I was looking for a mean Singapore Noodle. Their Singapore noodle was really good, one of the better one that i have tried in the city. I also had a small hot & sour soup which was good. This is the classic Chinese takeout place that i remember as a kid from the east coast. If that is the type of Chinese food you are looking for i am sure you’d like this place. If you are looking for something a little more authentic, maybe checkout ID. I will be coming back here, will probably become my goto Chinese Takeout place. It also has a small parking lot, which is very convenient!

The lady who owns Mei Mei is so sweet and thoughtful. If you want a change or alter anything in your plate just let her know, she’s got your back! If you want quality Chinese food for a great price go to Mei Mei’s! The egg rolls are super good to! General Tso Chicken - 5/5 Chicken Chow Mein - 5/5 (May need a bit more chicken but it’s a great portion of noodles) Sweet & Sour - 5/5 (it originally comes with the sauce on the chicken but I get it on the side so I can dip the chicken in)

We went there after a Chinese friend recommended Mei Mei cafe. Ordered 4 dishes for takeout. 3 out of 4 were disappointing. The Mapo tofu was edible at best. The teriyaki chicken was pretty gross. Too much undercooked onion as filler. The Chow mien also has a ton of undercooked onions, while the noodles didn’t have any interesting texture. The only decent dish was the green beans. Very typical Americanized Chinese food. Very disappointed. My search for half decent Chinese food in Seattle goes on.
