Romio's Lake City

The food here is simply amazing. We've been getting the dumplings and handmade noodle soups. I can see the cooks inside roll out and flatten the noodles. The broth is rich, and the fillings flavorful. The host is super sweet and kind. Hope they survive these times. I'm sure they'll be part of the Lake City way renaissance!! They also seem to have packets of frozen dumplings for steaming at home. Highly recommend and will update when we try more dishes.

Due to the pandemic, I have not had dining in experience at this place since to carry out to me personally can sometimes alter the quality of a dish. But I must tell you, I have always had great take out experience at Mount & Bao. Their hand pulled noodles in spicy sauce was so delicious. I was thinking to myself “ no meat? How can that be good?” And boy I was wrong, it was simply perfect. Every time I had this dish, I always wish for more! Their chicken in spicy sauce was also great. Xiao long baos can be hard to judge since I believe those should be eaten right at the restaurant but they did a great job trying to deliver similar experience for take out orders. For those who wants to plan a whole week meals, def consider the frozen options in the menu. I can’t wait to actually dine in at this place.

A new favorite Chinese restaurant in lake city. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. Great portion sizes and the quality was there. There is only street parking and it’s easy to miss it. The Mongolian beef was really good not too spicy. The pork soup dumplings were very good and definitely tasted homemade. My least favorite was the spicy wontons and spicy sauce because the sauce was a little too sour for my taste. I would definitely come back however the restaurant closed at 9 o’clock when the yelp said that it close around 11 so I hope they change that soon.

Sept update: I wanted to try their hand pulled noodles which are good but their process for pick up orders is just whack. They forgot to put in a fork or chopsticks, how am I supposed to eat this —it’s a to go order! They also advertised a free bubble tea when I placed my DoorDash order and when I got there, the guy just tried to give me the food box and walked away with no drink. When I asked about the drink he shouted “ we’re out of bubble tea.” No offer for a replacement drink or pop even. I called them personally when I discovered the lack of utensils so hopefully they will improve next time for other customers but I’m totally out. I’ve been looking forward to trying out Mount & Bao for months, finally got take-out tonight and it’s just okay. The pork bao was the best out of the dishes- and for me it scored a 3.5. The onion pancake was not edible. Too salty and thick; something about the flavor was just off-putting, even soapy-like, which can’t be good. The green beans were decent, a generous serving with good garlic flavor, although they seemed over-steamed just a tad, perhaps it occurred in the take-out box. They also forgot to include any napkins or chopsticks/utencils for a pick-up order. The pork xlb dumplings were kind of a fail also, definitely small sized and a bit dry with weak meat flavour. I hope my feedback will be helpful to the dumpling chef. I don't think I'll be back.

Great dumplings, noodles, veggies! This place is a hole in the wall but when we went there was a guy there who said this is just like the good food he ate in China, best around. We ordered with confidence and loved it! They make a great pan fried bun, pork soup dumplings and loved the cauliflower! Going back, no question.
