Vertillo Pizza And Grill

Vertillo's Pizza is among the best pizza restaurants in the Shoals area and thankfully does offer dine in which many do not. It should also be noted that this restaurant will be moving from Sheffield to a Florence location along Florence boulevard. One of the things I like best about Vertillo's is they cook their pizza the old-fashioned style in a stone oven not a conveyor or gas oven. They will continue this tradition when they move to the new location as well. From all I can gather they use fresh ingredients hand chosen and the owner is on premise and takes an active part in the restaurant which is very important to ensure quality standards are met. This is a mom and pop pizza restaurant locally owned and operated. It's definitely one of the best pizza restaurants in the Shoals area. I know some have had some negative experiences and some of those could be due to their growing pains. I do know that the owners care and will seek to make whatever is wrong, right if possible. Sometimes it also takes ovens some time to season in so I anticipate it will only get better. If you want a crisper crust, or softer, just ask and often the cook can adjust the time cooking it to achieve the desired result. The problem with the weak tasting Pepsi has been fixed as well. All my visits to the new Florence location have been great visits and if they do happen to not meet my expectations I will complain in person as I have full assurance that the owner/manager will make it right if possible. Thanks Vertillo's! You have a great tasting pie. Ohh, if I had one suggestion it might be too add a shaker (or make one available) of garlic. Also one day I hope to see pasta on the menu in Florence.

Best pizza in Florence or even all of the Shoals. We had been pretty disappointed with all the Italian places around the area that just didn't really deliver amazing pizza but once we tried Vertillos, this place is going to be hard to beat. Quality ingredients, amazing pizza dough and great combinations of flavors. This is the place to go. Very friendly staff and clean restaurant is also a plus.
