Smok'n Jo's Bbq

Went with waitress recommended brisket and ribs. The menu mentions the ribs are award winning (probably a regional competition) The brisket was a mix of dry and a little tough to fatty and a little chewy. Felt like I got some from two parts of the brisket. The ribs I had left with dry rub and they were good but a little cold so not sure if they had them ready to go and waited on brisket? Mac-n-cheese is a cheese mix it tasted like so not that great. Potato salad was unique, tasted like it has relish in it as it was a little sweet and had pickles in it. I'll give it another go before writing it off as maybe just an off day.

The meat was pretty good, had brisket and ribs. I tried the baked beans, green beans, and cheesy potatoes and I have to say I've had much better sides. Cornbread was good, had corn pieces in it. I REALLY enjoyed the original bbq sauce, wish I could take a bottle home. Overall pretty good, just need to work on sides

Stopped here for dinner while I was traveling home. I am so disappointed. I returned my food because my brisket sandwich tasted like it had been microwaved. My husband and son both ordered macaroni and cheese. Both of their Mac n cheese were cold. Like out of the fridge cold. We asked our server to just throw it in the microwave. She took it and brought it back a few minutes later still cold. I will say my son enjoyed the bbq meatloaf. The ribs my husband ordered were just ok. Our waitress was nice. The hostess was rude and I almost left as soon as I walked through the door but I realized she wasn’t my waitress so I didn’t have to deal with her.

The price was good. The cup of chili was one of the best I have ever tried. Good job. I ordered the baked potatoe with pulled pork and cheese. The baked potatoe was overcooked and hard. The pulled pork was good. However, I did not like their BBQ sauce on the potatoe. It tasted like mustard. I don't think mustard and potatoes are a good mix but that is my opinion. The staff was very nice.
