Din Tai Fung Chinatown Point

Well known established Chinese restaurant, but this is my first time here. Can't comment much since I realize I don't know how to appreciate xiaolongbao. Haha. But I love the way they prepare the century egg. Yummy! The preserved veg noodle is surprisingly nice too. Fried rice also comes with a generous portion of egg. Great service with free flow hot Chinese tea

Dining at Din Tai Feng requires some knowledge of the dishes because some are outstanding while others miss the mark. The egg fried rice is excellent where simple ingredients in the hands of the skilful chef could transform eggs spring onions and short grain rice into a tasty dish. The dou miao comes out in vivid green that epitomise freshness. The dainty xiao long bao with the exquisite folds looks too pretty to eat. It tasted alright although the amount of minced pork had shrunk and as a result one tends to taste more of the dumpling skin rather than the robust rich flavour.

Like the place except it’s a noisy. The food is nice and we have been coming here often. We love the fried rice and the oriental salad, Dou Miao and the braised beef soup. For those coming to this outlet try to avoid the peak lunch period between 11.30am to 1.30pm else you likely have to wait between 15 to 45 mins. Sharing is definitely ideal.
