Anjappar Authentic Chettinaad Restaurant

We had the set rice dishes and Fish 65. Both tasted good. More on the spicier side but that's given since it is Chettinad style dishes. The fish dish was so-so and quite pricy for the amount we got. It was not crowded since it was about 1.45pm. Service was commendable and food arrived on our table within 10 minutes.

I am not sure if local people will like the taste or not but being a tourist from India, Tamilnadu for us it was Superb👌 DELICIOUS... After a week we had like home food...Food just like Southindian style... We take way through foodpanda... Fast service... Vegetation and Non-Vegetation both are yummu... Overall good food... Cost is very reasonable... Would order again from here...

Had a lovely experience dining at anjappar. Very attentive and polite staff. Food was of good quality, could get the freshness of ingredients in each dish. Chicken bum biriyani was not as good as I expected, maybe its a more chettinadu style of making it. It had a more subtle, mild flavour. Crab roast and gobi munchurian were my favourite. Mint chicken tikka was an absolute delicacy, I doubted that the mint might overpowering, but it was a perfect balance. Loved it.

Frequent for the Food and the Host 16 Jan 2022: I was craving for dosa and the accompanying chutnies. After reading a blog that ranked Anjappar Restaurant as one of the best for Dosas we headed to Race Course Road branch on 16 Jan 2022. The reservation process was slightly cumbersome so we just dropped in. It was quite a comfortable setting. Very attentive and smiling staff. We ordered Mutton Dosa and lassi. The lassi was not as thick and creamy as I am used to having in the North Indian restaurants but it went very well with the dosa. The Mutton Dosa was a novelty. The stuffing was well cooked and tasty shredded pieces of mutton and paired well with the green (mint) and red (tomato) onion chutney. Then the restaurant manager Mr Sathish came and asked us if we would like to have some chicken/mutton gravy. Not knowing what to expect, we shook out heads. He insisted. "Try it with this. The sambar does not go well with mutton dosa." He himself went to the kitchen and got us a bowl of gravy and as he suggested the dosa dipped in the gravy was an extraordinary experience. Mutton Dosa with mutton curry at Anjappar Chettinaad Restaurant is a MUST try. We will go back again 30 Jan 2022: We went back again to try the masala dosa. very sumptuous. Mr Sathish taught us how to mix tea from the bowl to the cup. 2Feb 2022 We tried onion dosa today and wanted to try something fried to go along I was thinking of Paneer 65 or Chicken 65. Mr. Sathish again came with a great suggestion - to try the stir fried chilli paneer. Turned out, it is a great option. We also tried their Kesri Bhat. Not the regular yellow or orange. This one is white and had a.sweet fruity flavour. Quite refreshingly different.
