Fika Swedish Cafe And Bistro

It’s located at a nice neighbourhood and the ambience was enjoyable. We had the Fisherman Pasta but the taste wasn’t strong enough even though it has lots of different seafood in it. We also ordered the Smorgasbord and it has a tremendous spread! However, some of the items doesn’t seem to go very well with each other like sirloin and grilled chicken together with the herring. Individually the taste were still acceptable and overall it was a filling meal.

Overall, the dishes we ordered tasted delicious, only for the mutton with the bread dish; the mutton tasted like pork liver, we didn’t like the texture. The dessert looks delicious even we didn’t try it. Service was ok. The waiter and waitress attempted to us promptly whenever we had some requests. The place is a little tight; if you have a pram or kid that is very active, I think it is not an ideal place to dine in. Table to table is a little close, so there is not much privacy. Wanted to have some coffee & desserts so we decided to try Fika as we were attracted by their nice decor. Cappuccino was really mediocre at $6 for a 5oz cup. Nothing close to %Arabica just down the road. The dessert crepes & waffle, with ice cream is reasonably cheap at $13 & $12 respectively. However taste is alright & average. Nothing to shout about. Maybe will try their hot food & main courses next time & give a better rating. Just 3 stars for now.

Food was decent, second time coming here. Service, on the other hand, was a bit funny. I get why some other reviews were complaining about the service, I think they need more training but the staff aren't malicious, just less experienced in customer service, maybe. Had their Swedish Apple Tea (a bit too sweet for my liking), and their Kladdkaka (quite nicely done and worth the money. Just note that the opening hours are changed (closes at around 9 on weekdays, probably due to COVID).

Visited Fika and had some lovely dishes! The meatballs is a must have for anyone who enjoys Swedish meatballs, good sauces and loving the potatoes! Tried the crayfish pasta from the summer 2022 menu, it’s nice and creamy. The pasta is al dente and it’s so yummy!! So many pieces of crayfish! Nice and healthy herb crusted salmon, lovely mash potato. Yummmmm… And the desserts, pick a cake or apple crumble. It’s lovely!!! Such a hot day, having a nice strawberry fruit soda was likely the most enjoyable thing to do on a hot day. Don’t forget to stir properly! Refreshing and sweet… Enjoy!

As a coffee connoisseur, they actually have the best lattes ever. Went there for their Kladdkaka to celebrate and have conversations with my friends for my 21st and we had a good time. The staffs were extremey welcoming and friendly although we were kinda noisy (our bad!) but the atmosphere was still lovely. Would definitely come again! 🤍
